What's With The People Here?

I have made this recent observation.

A group of people who joined this site about 18 months ago who are complete tools. There are quite a few of them. Most with thousands of posts and inflated rep from the Political forum.

What is up with these guys? Why are their vagina's so sandy?

What is it about people with 3,000+ posts? Did they get a certificate in the mail making them the most inflamed hemorrhoids on the planet?

I just don't get it. I really don't.
I need to remember that Average IQ is only 100 and that for every 140 in here there is going to be a 60 who thinks they are the absolute shit. Post counts are quantity, not quality, and it's like they think this earns them some kind of respect. 3,000+ asshole comments do not equate to being a beneficial member of a community.

Still though, really some angry mother fuckers around here. Seems like these guys who post 20+ times a day have run out of good bud. Too bad too, because we're supposed to be all like minded here, and yet some people just can't hang. You throw some big words at them and it's like an episode of Maury where the idiot is just repeating themselves.

Calm the fuck down trolls. I think it's funny because anyone with a brain viewing from the outside can see their behavior andmake a judgment. I know I have.

We would all be happier if everyone stopped feeding the trolls. Always a few bad trolls, just like life, assholes are everywhere, here too.
I've done the math too, some people have nothing better to do than sit under the bridge.

Seriously. It's getting bad for me recently. I have a terrible habit of feeding the trolls thinking that at some point I'll show them the light. I always forget that if a troll sees light they turn to stone, so that'll never happen

Seems like everyones gone soft, stand strong behind what you believe and learn when to pick a fight. If you see someone trolling the best thing to do is ignore it because you should know better than to feed their habbit. You don't need to change someones mind, just make sure your mind is strong

Then begs the question: What is more pathetic, starting a pointless heated arguement on the internet, or getting sucked into one? Either way you will find yourself fighting someone you don't even know about pointless opinions no one cares about outside of the forum

That's true. That fact that I won't fight with them I think really pisses them off.

I'm a newb here but try to be as productive as possible only giving out "adivce" (sometimes it's more of a strong suggestion since I can't claim any success/failure RE: some things) but trolls are on every site and then tend to try to suck you into an argument when sometimes all you want is concrete advice vs. myth or an untested method...just my .02

Straight up. I'm getting it bad right now in the Canna Coco thread. Had an idea, presented it, and jberry spills his douche bag out on me. It's gotten bad. I went and cited some stuff they refuse to acknowledge. I ask questions that get no answers, and now the thread is 2 pages off topic because it's just them attacking me. Telling me not to let the door hit me on the vagina on the way out.

In a way it's really funny. In another way, really sad. Mostly because people are going to listen to these ass wipes unknowingly being duped.

You guys are right though. Just say what needs saying and stop feeding the trolls. I've got one more spam PM to send to Nas and then I'm done with it.

Thanks for the words of encouragement fella's. It is really nice to know that the whole bunch hasn't been ruined by a few bad apples.

Welcome to the internet! I'm actually just as surprised as you are that it goes on even at a chill forum like this but really I think it's just an internet/forum thing. You get the good, the bad and the ugly no matter what forum it's at. Peace. =)

Some of the more knowledgeable members around here actually like to give GOOD advice. When we see other noobs who have never grown a damn thing telling other folks who ask for advice things like burning candles or piping in car exhaust as a good idea, well we kind of like people to know what works and what doesn't. If you ask for advice about your 8 plants in 1 boo boo picnic basket stacked 10 feet high on books and precariously balanced on a stool balanced upon a table and then turn around and call the people giving the advice a bunch of faggots, really what do you expect? If you ask for someone to be critical of your work and then lambaste them for being constructively critical you aren't going to receive any more sound advice from the growers with proven repeatable results. What you really end up with is a bunch of know nothings all spewing terrible advice.

Even though people here can act a certian way, I always find it helpful to keep name calling out of a discussion. When things get personal is when tentions rise and people get off topic. No good points in an arguement are made by personal attacks. When someone decides to personally attack me I take that as a sign of immaturity and choose to ignore it, and do not return the favor. This might cool things off for the other person and in turn you may be able to reach a conclusion on your argument. Just my 2 cents

I understand what you're saying because i see it way too often. like I said before, when personal attacks are distributed by the other poster, even if it is his first post to you, I would take that as an unwillingness to learn and tell him to have fun with whatever way he decides to grow his plants. The OP of the growing thread will most likely choose to follow your advice if he sees you aren't the one calling people faggots and that you have no need to retaliate to others that do. If he decides to follow the person calling people faggots advice then that will be on him, lesson learned when his plants die

Im new here, not to people, you just have to have a thicker skin bro. people will be as they want to be, youll seldom change someones mind whos HAD it for any amount of years. typically youll have people that just love to poo-poo anything thats not in line with their perceptions or procedures,or they just want attention or to 'be right'.. let them have those little satisfactions in their lives, they mean nothing, be you.

Very very good advice. The very moment someone drops the "Ass hole, moron, dick, douche bag, fucko, etc, etc" That's the moment to unsub.
Here's my ignore list. Brick Top does drop some good info, dude knows his shit, but he's a pissy little thing when you're on his bad side, not worth dealing with.

But I don't want anyone to lose their plants, I want them to grow out to be the biggest most productive plants they can possible be. Its hard to argue with someone who really believes that a picture of the sun over the plants WILL make it grow bigger.

You do see some of the higher post count folks in the Politics section only because us veterans get tired of all the crap in the newbie and general forums and get tired of the stupid bickering too. The Politics section was MADE for debate, so if you like to be argumentative or try to prove other view points wrong then its a great place to do it. Most of the folks over there love new blood, but only if you can articulate a point and back up your posts with facts. Its Debate, not war. Most people think that we just end up getting pissed off at each other, but we don't. I don't think of people with differing ideas as enemies, more like adversaries and I learn more from the other view points than I do just reading whatever I can. Disagreement is a good thing, it doesn't necessarily have to turn into a flame fest.

man im semi new and to me its been very chill most of the time since i joined RIU and im only ever really in 2 forums(toke and talk and hallucinatory substances). not that there are never any clownshoes in there but last week there was sum mad drama. an ex member was posting stupid shit and challenging the mods so he got banned. he seemed cool alot of the time but just couldnt follow the rules. the dumbass people seem to weed thereselves out so dont worry.

I love debate, I too believe that much is learned through different view points, but when personal attacks and immature tactics are used I'd rather save my breath for someone worthy. We're basically on the same page with this one
