No but seriously it cracks me up that you can definitively say it's not bleaching. Meanwhile anyone who googles it can see others saying hps does cause bleaching. But hey , you did this once with your specific strain so you must be right, right? Felix I like the DWC idea and will be doing it my next grow. This was recommend by my friend whose grown for years as coco, while more wrk, tends to be more forgiving. Mind telling me your feeding schedule with that system and nute line? That can't be what you're feeding all the way thru

I've grown over 200 plants now.. I've done it a few times.. no light bleaching, not even once.. I've grown many strains, I live in California so I can just go to the store and buy whatever clone I want for 10 bucks. I've stupidly sprouted seeds under a thousand watt before. They were fine, and green. Hps can burn, but as far as turn buds albino white,
fuck no that doesn't happen with hid.

Hids dont turn plants white, more yellow and burnt looking. Many people confuse it with nitrogen deficiency. But it definitely doesn't cause this.... that's leds.

Hahaha you guys crack me the F up. I went and bought a lux lumen reader to be sure. The plants most affected by what I suspected with light burn we're showing a 1014. I take that to mean over 100k lumens.
It's my understanding you can get into trouble w over 85,000 lumens?
Reading light is completely new to me so I'm just going off a YouTube video and a chart here. Oh and I should say these numbers were AFTER scaling the watts down to 600.... am I doing this wrong bc I def know 600 watts is perfectly fine, especially aircooled and sealed.
Spacing is a 4x4x8 tent but considering the light Hangs just around 18" from
Biggest cola top.

100K+ lux AFTER dialing it down is pretty extreme. Brightest summer sunlight hits about 120K, average sunlight is 80-100k, so yeah light burn is a definite possibility..
Edit: If you hit 101K at 600W, at 1000W you would have been topping 130K lux easily.

This is actually a reader for PAR as well, I believe between 400-700 nm.
Anyone use the quantum PaR meter by hydrofarm?
Yeah, the plant leaves that we're most damaged already feel less brittle and waxy. But we shall see. The problem
I have is I tend to change too many things at once and never seem to learn my damn lesson. Doing this properly is adjust one thing at a time and record any change/cross off the list. But hey the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?
One thing I also read is the newer the bulb, the stronger the light with hps. This is a new bulb for sure so I didn't factor that in. Any comments on that sunshine?
The guys at my store here in SoCal tell me it's "normal" that the white I'm seeing is new white hairs about to spring out. Does that seem about right at this point in the game? (15 day flower)

LIke Holy shit man, half this stuff Im reading I cant make any sense of when it comes to PAR and micromoles... ALL I WANT TO KNOW is when I put this little reader out on top of each damn cola top... what is the IDEAL number going to read and at what point to we start to get into trouble?
