What's wrong with my bud? Dying top leaves. Overfed? [PICS INCLUDED]

Hi guys,

I was wondering if I should be worried by how these buds look? Leaves at the top of two colas seem to have died completely and more hairs have turned red on these two colas than the others. Leaves don't look too dark on entire plant, so I don't think I overfed, but I can definitely be wrong. I first thought bud rot, but I don't see any browning/discolor on the actual bud. I've been watering once a week about a gallon each watering.

Strain: Strawberry Cough

Beginning of week 7 flowering

Soil: Fox Farms Ocean Forest

Light: 400w HPS

Nutrients: Hydroponic Researcher Veg+Bloom & Hydroponic Researcher +Life Powder

3-gallon Smart Pot

Thanks for your help!

Not overfed and your concerns of bud rot are warranted. Can't say for sure that is what it is but a little unusual for those sugar leaves to brown out like that so it seems a possibility.

I would try pulling out one of those brown bud leaves and check it for rot, that could be what it is. You might have to invest in a dehumidifier. Do you know what the humidity levels are at?

I would flush them next time they need water since it's about time anyways.

Humidity levels are <40% whenever the lights are on and my tent is open. After 12 hours of dark, humidity is >80%, but drops down rapidly once the tent is opened. Today I cracked open a side flap and stuck a fan there to get fresh air going in (during dark cycle). I guess I should have been doing this from the beginning, but I just didn't want any light getting in so I don't disrupt flowering. Mind you, I have good ventilation while the light is on and the tent is open.
