Hi all

This is my first grow. I have 5 seedlings which are about 5-6 weeks old and they look this this picture attached. Im using a 600 w led and a 300w led for 3.3x3.3x6 tent. The soil is a mix of promix organic veg and herb, some manure, perlite and dolomite lime. I germinated with sunlight and moved inside but they are not growing. I only water when dry. i have good circulation. Any ideas? Maybe switch the hps? Someone at my grow shop said that sometimes in organic soil the fertilizer isnt so good so i wondered if i have nitrogen deficincy. my plants shouldnt look like this after 5 weeks should they?

5 gallons. I put them in the container after a month because they were so skinny. Should I put back in cups or leave them be?

I think your pot is way to big. If possible, repot to a smaller container and make sure you dont feed to much. also it looks like its stretching for more light, but 900w should be more than enough so im not sure.
once the rootsystem starts to fill the pot and you need to water more and more frequently, you can consider transplanting to a bigger pot.

thanks for your reply. I also have a auto plant in a large container but its a seedling. Was told to not transplant autos becuase they dont like that. Should this be in a smaller container too and then transplanted?

Holy shit! Now that's what I call a stretch. I think you need to move your light a lot closer. Hang it about 1-2ft away.

Also. If you're doing autos. It's best to plant them in their final pot. Don't repot them unless absolutely necessary. Make sure they've got at least 4 gallons of root space.

Bigger pots mean bigger roots. And theoretically can support much bigger plants. Meaning bigger yields can be obtained.

Thanks for the reply. I moved the lights higher because I was worried about burning the plants. Right now they are 22 inches away. I only have a few autos going.

13-14 inches. Gonna buy some 32 oz cups and replant them. The root ball is small but I probably need the larger cup to cover up the stem more. What do you think?

get a couple of t5s and put them about 3 inches over the tops of those plants. you can start plants under big lights far away, but it contributes to the problem you're having. less powerful lights a lot closer are good till they get established, then put them under your big lights. and be careful with the water till they start to get bigger, its easy to overwater, which can lead to a lot of problems.
if you're going to repot i'd go up to that bottom set of leaves, but then be very light with the water for a couple of days, if you get it too wet the stem might rot till it gets used to being buried

mate I'd sack that em off,if my picture has come with this then take alook your plant is older than mine mine if u can see it is just 4 weeks old, what soil you using, nutrients it could be a few reasons why they like that, cause if you have more an they all that tall you got a major problem some were,is your environment ok

Leave them in the large pot, autos like a large space 2 grow,
Hold your hand under the light and find a distance whare you light feels comfy and you can just hold it there, that is roughly the distance u want the light to b above the plants, remember their just weedlings, so a little further away wont hurt them with heat.

and wot Roger said, 20 watts per sq foot if i remember corectly 4 weedlings Rudi

i didn't say 20 watts per sq ft. i said get a couple of t5s till your plants got a little bigger.
and the 50 watts per sq ft is for flower, 30 per sq foot is usually more than enough for veg.
