Whats wrong?!

Hi. So i buy a hps lamp. Philips MASTER SON - T PIA Plus 150w. And when i start lamp than lamp ligh about 20 sec and than lamp off,than after 10 sec lamp light again and that a lot of times... So tell me,what wrong? Maybe its lamp model or somtheing?

What ballast did you get? make sure it is appropriate for a 150w .... It could be that you are using a too high powered ballast or a too low powered ballas...
And making taking a picture of how you hooked it up electrically might help... maybe you inverted two cables...

in any case it doesnt sound right.... and the light bulb wouldnt be lighting if it was busted.... you would maybe just see lightning strikes in the bulb if it was busted...

.. oh you might wanna check how your timer is set up as well if your using one...

Ballast is for 70-400w mh/hps lamp. thats a pic how its look like http://img263.yfrog.com/i/atvaizd010.jpg/ ,but i think this is bad bulb. First of all i try to put another lamp,example 400w son -t agro,than i see where is the problem,in lamp or in ballast.

hey, i had a similar malfuction. i got a brand new lamp offline and set it up. it workd great for a while then i noticed that sometimes it would come on and sometimes it would be off when i got up cause i have it set to come on a little before daylight. it didn't take me long to realize that the socket was going bad. i took the socket off carefully and notice that the hot wire(the wire that is white or red) was somehow melting from getting to hot i guess. i took the bulb out and looked inside and the socket and the screw that the hot wire is attached to was black. i bought a new mogal socket offline, wired it to the reflector hood and it has been great so far. it hasn't failed to come on yet.

if your sure the ballast is good and you hooked everything up the way they should be.... it can only be the bulb.....
just make sure that the connections are all correct.... before buying a new bulb

Now i know where is the problem. That model lamp is for street lightning. When lamp off,than "she" save energy,and repeat that again and again and again...
