Be careful whose beauty you be holding. You may get an eye full.I had a 2002 NSX, so the Audi R8 is the next progression, mid engine )
My son wants me to get a Huracon or a Ferrari 458, but for some reason the Audi R8 calls out my name …
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder …
There's 'retro inspired' and there's just plain slavish copy.

Shockingly this is the first VW posted in this thread. All of you are required to stand in a corner.

Kick ass oval! is it a 56?
Thanks. It was originally a transporter but converted to a camper. That's why it's not a walkthrough. All the interior is original shit though and well restored. The best part is the engine. It handles long hauls like the Treffen no problem. It always turns heads.i'm super jelly abandon , split buses are going for crazy money at the moment, yours looks pretty clean as well..
yes sir..Kick ass oval! is it a 56?
So clean. I like your style. No need to lower it or add a big ass intake or make it look like something it was never meant to look like, but I like that you gave some extra kick with the dual carb.with something like this 2332 cc, twin 48 ida webbers, porsche conversion fan, yes yes and yes..

i wish she were mine, but this is the dream car thread, so yeah, that's pretty much mine right there, love slightly lowered, but not slammed, the chromed fuch's, and bigger engine, pretty much cal look without the one piece windows..So clean. Yeah the low-riders that scrape pavement are kinda dumb imo. A little bit is cool. Sometimes the patina rust look is cool too I guess.i wish she were mine, but this is the dream car thread, so yeah, that's pretty much mine right there, love slightly lowered, but not slammed, the chromed fuch's, and bigger engine, pretty much cal look without the one piece windows..
i'm in a bunch of vw groups online and my one friend has a ghia that thing sits on the ground.. it's cool, but how do you even drive it and not worry about hitting every little stone and what not?Yeah the low-riders that scrape pavement are kinda dumb imo. I have seen some that pull off the patina look nicely but they put a lot of effort into rusty fixtures that aren't bent or dented. Usually it fails though.i'm in a bunch of vw groups online and my one friend has a ghai, that thing sits on the ground.. it's cool, but how do you even drive it and not worry about hitting every little stone and what not?
i'm not really a big fan of the patina thing.. idk, i can see why people in the rat rod crowd got into it, body work and the painting that comes after endless hours of sanding is pricey to say the least, so by not doing it they save a lot of money, i get it.. i just don't like how it's pretty much every car you look at today.. i like paint, to me, a painted car just kills a patina car.. sure, it's a lot more work, and money, but idk, i'll shut up, i just don't get it..
i'm not going to shit on anyone's style, i'd rather see a car on the road that's slammed and patina'd over either a car sitting in a field that the owner will get to one day, or b, a super nice painted car that the owner is afraid to drive and it just sits in his / her garage..
i really don't get that fauxtina thing.. ok, i get that a car is old and was abused, and you got it and fixed it up enough to get it back on the road and running good, but just left the faded paint work and rust.. again, not my thing, but i can understand to a degree, but when people restore a car, take the body off the pan or frame, put all new parts on and turn around and either do one of those fake patina paint jobs and just clear over it, it doesn't work as well for me..I have seen some that pull off the patina look nicely but they put a lot of effort into rusty fixtures that aren't bent or dented. Yeah, I'll take turkis over patina anyday. I like high tech electronics hidden in it too. I guess I like for it to look as it would have looked originally but clean.i really don't get that fauxtina thing.. ok, i get that a car is old and was abused, and you got it and fixed it up enough to get it back on the road and running good, but just left the faded paint work and rust.. again, not my thing, but i can understand to a degree, but when people restore a car, take the body off the pan or frame, put all new parts on and turn around and either do one of those fake patina paint jobs and just clear over it, it doesn't work as well for me..
i just love the classic clean lines of an old vdub, but dump the 36 horse og engines, and spice em' up with a nice big 2 liter plus engine, dual carbs or even throttle bodies, electronic ignition, discs all around, and i love the look of the porsche conversion fan on a flat four.. something around 150 hp in those light cars is more than enough to put a smile on my face and keep me happy.. oh yeah, throw on some fuchs or empis or i really like the randar real deal wheels that are kinda popular right now..Yeah, I'll take turkis over patina anyday.
