I have a CCIE, for 15 - 20 tears now (can't remember exactly when I first qualified) Bud you just can't go wrong with this ccna, it's an excellent qualification, difficult but well worth it. Respect man, don't give up

Free advice if anybody is interested, IT is easy way to make a living. A+/N+ are good qualifications, not at all difficult to obtain and will allow you to work for yourself. Never ever give up the chance for an education, big mistake.
As a former IT guy, I am compelled to crack one joke, please don't take offense as it is just in jest. You say networking is great but you freudian slip TEARS in place of YEARS. LOL
Just be fair and tell these guys that if they want to be on top of their game they need to kiss all reading material goodbye cuz all their time reading will be spent on white papers and re - certing every few years.

Now try and find Guy Clark's song "Hank Williams said it best" and no I am not aiming the song at you just seems pertinent to both of us.

See post #16 on this thread friend.
Say's this:
I used to manage the SAN where one of the largest Health insurance companies in the U.S. stores all their data along with about 70% of all small and medium (and a few top 15 sized) banks in the US.
I made about 80 000 /yr by the end.

I walked away from all of it and now I am lucky to clear 12/hr doing stone work/carpentry/trade skills.
I have never been happier and have no regrets, not even when I am struggling.8)
I wasn't poking at-cha, just have a shockwave error msg that shows from time to time & I'm a computer dumb-ass.
And it was a lame attempt at a joke.

Come spring time ill prob go look for a laborer job .10.80$ does not cut it when I want to get a mew car/rent to own a property and continue adding to my 401k n savings. I just want an adult job dont want to do the bullshit job jumping. Somewhere I can work my way up and be a formen or supervisor. To do that at my.job id have to wait a good 10 more years and fuck that

yeh, I wouldn't expect to get paid any more than that as an entry level grunt tho bud. The thing with the construction trades is if you work hard and have a good head on your shoulders you can move up pretty quickly. Be a turd and shy away from the hard work and they can always find someone to pick up garbage and sweep the floors. You sound like you'll be just fine tho.

I have never felt such a sense of accomplishment as seeing a big job finish on time and within budget. Or getting a group of guys to work together to accomplish said goal......feels pretty good. It can feel pretty overwhelming at first, just cuz there is so much to learn, and you can get pulled in so many directions. but you're young, just take it one day at a time and you'll get there.

good plan, cept the rent to own part.. dont do it, its a really good way for you to lose money, if you want a place, save the down payment and just get a mortgage.
except it seems to be pretty difficult to get a mortgage these days without stellar credit. At least so I've been told. Used to be you could have less than perfect credit and still get a note...just with a higher rate. now......not so much.

Land contract can be a great deal for many, if they are committed.

I am a journeyman mason. Local # 1 out of Detroit. Brick, stone, and water proofing. I worked hard to get to $32.50 an hour, then fell to my death. Well, I lived, but it killed me. In 2005.
Not sure what they're making today, most of my buddies do other things now. I never liked the union.

Fuck them.
Now I'm a caregiver.

Wow, that must have been awesome, always wanted to fire a sniper rifle, 50cal preferably and I don't even like firearms all that much, but I love the toys the American military play with, pity they kill people. When I play military computer games, it's the sniper rifle for me.

I was a cog in a mechanism that no longer needed my pitch, I was paid a pittance for keeping the balance between life and death daily, now I toil in the lines of mediocrity.
