hey do i just wire the expsosed third wire in my 150 econ light hps to the third prong of a plug in adapter. do i use normal wire. or do i jus tleave it there hanging inside. i know tis prob stupid, but i wana another sorce.

Keeping a clean and uncluttered grow space would seemingly go a long way in reducing one's chances of an incident. Also, using power strips with those little re-set buttons on the bottom might help protect against any major over-load.

if your talking about the ground wire ...please for the love of god HOOK THAT THING TO THE DAMN GROUND WIRE IN YOUR CORD

I've had a fire, a few years ago. Home pretty much burned down, had to live in a rental house for a year while they restored it. But it had nothing to do with growing, just really old wiring, like 100 years old.

Were you growin' when it burned?

Unless your an electrician then buy a sealed ballast all ready to go and nicely packaged from a reputable company, and water the plants only!

No, wasn't growing at the time, thank the stars. They found a light, which was not in use at the time, but I said that was for wintering my tropical bonsai.
