flowering should take around 9 weeks. 6 weeks is usually when you hit the "explosion" what are you flowering with though?

Are you counting those flowering days from the day you switched the light schedule or the day they actually began flowering? (a common mistake) Once you flip the light schedule, you will have appx 2 weeks of stretch and then the bud building begins with small hair clusters that begin to blow up on all your bud sites. That's your first day of flowering. You should have some decent little clusters popping up by day 28 for sure though.

hang in there ... no set time tbh .... so many variables and breeds .... most harvest when the hairs on the colas are 50 to 70 percent darkened . If you get a magnifier you can get a little more precise . I like to catch em when they have a good mix of clear , cloudy , and amber trich's myself but it depends on what kinda buzz your after . clear and cloudy trichs are generally associated with more of the head high while amber ones are more the couchlock bodybuzz . Same with the hairs 50/50 of dark and white hairs (early) more of a head high - or waiting untill they are all dark - leads to the couchlock style buzz .... good luck ... just dont cheat yourself - read up on drying and curing it properly ... its worth the time ...

there is so much that depends on bro...i did a batch last time and it didnt even show pistels till 2.5 weeks into flowering, and my current grow has an LA CHEESE that exploded with white hairs and baby nugs and its only 14 days into flower...time literally freezes when waiting for a plant to be harvested but it comes with the territory,lol... this is the LA CHEESE taken yesterday, flowered on 5-25....IMG_20110608_165948.jpg

14 days on my last grow looked like they were still veg state...dont worry, it should explode soon, give it a nutrient additive like koolbloom powder, the NPK is 2-45-28 i think, low nitrogen and high phosphate and potassium will throw it in full flower mode, mine do... :-)

I disagree LBH, I count from day of switching to 12/12, and my 8 week strains usually finish in around 53 days, so if i waited for hairs/flowers to show, i'd have a 40-43 day flowering plant.

28 days is only three weeks from 12/12, normally buds will still b small at this stage, you just seeing msny hairs, keep feeding and keeping ph right, nd she'll grow, 6 weeks, as said earlier by someone, is when you really see bud growth, with lots of swelling last 2 weeks.

its mix of cfls and t12s. only three plants of bagseed. real good smoke but i dont know the strains. all three alrady had trichomes around twenty days of flowering. looking pretty good so far. Its like a complete 360 of lights around each plant.

im sure thats the proper way to calculate flowering but i personally consider it flower when u switch, all the stretch and flower are all a part of the flowering process...

if you have a perfect setup and all the same clones from something you have flowered before ... yea maby you could get the count to a set number of days .... but if you can say usually 53 days and be right .. kudos to you .... but when I try getting too precise on when my girls are gonna be done ... thats usually when they show me that I'm not in as much control as I like to believe I am .... maby your just more awsome than me ... eh - who knows . I'm still gonna stand on ( for most growers ) it's not gonna run on your time and they will be done when they get there .....

.
When the breeder lists the # of days flowering, they are referring to the beginning of flower, not the switch. If you are finishing consistently early, that's awesome but certainly not the norm.

We all need to try and be very specific with questions like this. I'm seeing lots of replies referring to trichs as "hairs". Generally, the term hairs refers to the pistils, not the trichs. Pistil color is irrelevant when discerning maturity. Trichs only.

I do agree with the general understanding here that you aren't in trouble or anything, can be absolutely normal for some strains to take this long to show, but on avg, you should be there now or very soon. Keep us posted and good luck!!

This last run I seen buds at 3 days of 12/12. Usually takes 3-7 for flowers to form. I dont know where you guys get this 2 weeks from!!. U must have a light leak or are using weak genetics! I start count my day when buds start to form NOT after the plant stretches!
So much mis information out there !
