I do mine from flip but it takes 2 weeks for a full hormonal shift to flower. It doesn't matter since you shouldn't chop by date. You should chop by plant maturity; ie how your plant and it's trichomes look.Do you start the flowering days the day you switch to 12 hours light 12 hours dark? Or once you see a sign of the flower, which took 14 day from light switch?
Good callKeep track of both. It can’t hurt. The more you keep track, more notes you take the more info you have to make future decisions. Peace
Every single strain is different. Often, plants from the same batch of seeds are different.I'm 45 days in from flip 30 days since flower showed. And I was going by look for harvest just trying to figure out time for later to better time out grows.
Well saidEvery single strain is different. Often, plants from the same batch of seeds are different.
The only way to be able to semi-reliably estimate flower time is grow the strain out at least once. The next time you run that strain *in the same environment*, you should be able to predict within a two week window.
I've been doing this for a long time, and for the most part, I can gauge down to within 5-7 days for most of my strains. Sometimes I'm a bit short, sometimes a bit long.
