pistils can turn orange or red due to wind, the oils from your fingers touching,or a number of other things. They can definitely be a sign of maturing but the only way to really know how close to harvest you are w/o having been through a few cycles is by looking at the trich's under a scope.takes out all the guesswork and looks really beautiful to boot

usually with my girls right before week 7 i start to see a few small amber "mushroom" looking trichromes out of all the other majority clear and milky ones.when you first see trichromes on your girls as their flowers start to cluster they'll be transparent, then as the buds develop and trichromes grow more densely the see through trichs will bein to turn milky.contrary to some info out there you most likely wont see the trichs turn solid white, but instead just go from real cloudy,to a light amber and eventually dark amber.heres a couple pics showing the transition.and if you can get a strong magnifying glass and your eyesight's pretty decent you might be able to spot some amber when it comes up.imho though from what i can see you should give her at very least a couple weeks.it looks like you still have a good amount of healthy pistils stretching out to catch pollen which means shes definitely not done.most likely still has a lot of swelling to do.

That looks very sativa dominant and def looks like it has a few weeks left. Usually sat's take 11-16 weeks to flower. Mine has been flowering for almost 3 weeks now and still only has preflowers. Im guessing I have a 16 weeker!
