When do you crank the lights up?

I know lots of us run lights turned down for veg to save some money.

The question is when do you crank the lights to full power for flowering.

I have always waited until the plant starting to stop stretching and more hairs are shooting out.

What dose everyone else do?

I never had a dimable ballast sadly. Always full cranked it. Equipment is old though. I need to upgrade for sure.

^^^^ ya crank it up. I constantly run 6 autos under my 600 24/0. Mine is dimmable. I have dialed it down a couple times over the years. For the most part I leave it up and on all year.

Reminds me. Probably should buy a new bulb soon. :bigjoint:

^^^^^ heed the gospel above ... running BKR TIL the wheels fall off the plants.

20\4 is another great cycle. Autos love lots of light .

I run my 4*QBs down at 200wts draw to start up 25wts per week. Then when pistils start showing full blast at 450wts draw.

Worked well on the first grow. Works easy to if you have a current/wts meter or kilawatt to easily produce dimmed value

My lights don't turn down. My seedlings and clones start life under a 200w DIY cfl fixture. Once the are ready they move under my 8 bulb t5 that sits about 3-5 inches above the plants.

1-2 weeks late once they are well rooted they go into flower. About 14-16inches from my 1k hps at full power.

Plants want light if you give them enough they won't stretch to reach for it.

I run a 1k over a 4x4 area. I would love to add more power around the sides and soak the plants with more light. I can't run more right now though. Yield and quality are directly related to how much light you give your plants both in veg and flower.
