When do you start flushing?

Hey all! Thanx(and +rep) to any who take the time to help me out.;-)

I am four weeks into flowering, on my first very successful growing of good genetics... In other words, it's been all dirt pot till now. One of my budding ladies is a Powerkush(Dinafem) that looks like she wants to harvest on or before 7 weeks flowering. That means that in a couple of weeks, Im going to have to start thinking about flushing her. I'll post some pics of my Powerkush at the bottom of this post. If for no other reason, than just for bud porn. :bigjoint:

I know that I am to harvest when my trichomes are bent and amber. I'm also aware that I can harvest earlier, but I will lose some of my couchlock effect... I want couchlock.

My question is... How do YOU judge when to start flushing. I mean, I know your supposed to start flushing one week before harvesting, but how can you tell when your one week from harvest?

Thanx all, and if you would like to stop by the grow, it's HERE.

To begin, I am no professional grower, but have learned a few things from my past grows..

You are right about flushing about one week before harvest. I got a freebie dinafem power kush as well, and must say I am liking yours a lot. I am currently growing dinafem moby dick, so I must say they are a pretty solid company.

If you are only 4 weeks into flowering, then you have at least another 3-4 weeks to go. She will tell you when it's time to start flushing. By this I mean, the buds will be swelling dramatically and pistils will start to turn orange. You'll sense that she is finishing flowering through all of this and when she begins to go through final stages, that sir is when you want to flush. She will need those nutrients all the way up to the end and flushing is only to clean up those excess salts and allow the buds to clean themselves out for that fresh smoke. I personally, do the final flush with only water, but start incorporating molasses into my watering 2 weeks before I estimate her finishing. This allows her to uptake what sugars she needs from the molasses and put on some major bud weight. From the looks of your girl she is going to yield a pretty nice cola.

That reads a little confusing, so put simpler. 2-3 more weeks of regular nute schedule. 1 week of molasses flushing. 1 week of straight water flushing (a lot of water). 48 hours of darkness. Cut. Trim. Dry. Cure.

Biggest thing I would say is let her go as long as you possible can. That way she is able to finish out her addition of cannaboids to the bud, add the most weight possible, and be dank as possible. Many new growers cut too soon, so don't be one of them.

Hope this helps a little bit

Few of us are pros, man.

Grow that Pk in FF, and feed it Llama organics. I got mine as a freebie as well, and she LOVED FoxFarm Ocean Forest. I fed her organic tea made with Llama ans sheep manure when vegging, and Llama and Bat when she started flowering. She's been the most vigorous plant in the room, from day1.

I've heard that said before... That you can sense it...

I've thought about giving them molasses...
