So far they havent seem to get hurt or anything, 1 is a bit flimsy as if she stretched a bit but all other seedlings are around her height so it just might be herself. They are dimmed down right now but everyday I see new growth so its all good w me really2 600w hps in fact
What would you saw is the minimum lumens you would need for say your 2 cloning boxes? A cloning box is my next diy build maybe in a week or two to get some cutts outFrom here

heat will make em streatch a tad but vegging with hids will work 100% people here are worried about useing hids for veg or some people will say u dont need that much light but by week 3 from seed they are 30cm tall lush heavy green and ready to take buds were if u vegged with a cfl u would be justt getting ready to trasferr by the time i am buddingSo far they havent seem to get hurt or anything, 1 is a bit flimsy as if she stretched a bit but all other seedlings are around her height so it just might be herself. Same thought here. Trying to veg fast n get to flowering so HID it is.. now the fan I have is kicking ass id say the temp of where the babies are are around 80's max. All other girls look nice. Im really trying to find a way to make a cheap A/C unit while I wait for myfunds to replenish for a vent set upheat will make em streatch a tad but vegging with hids will work 100% people here are worried about useing hids for veg or some people will say u dont need that much light but by week 3 from seed they are 30cm tall lush heavy green and ready to take buds were if u vegged with a cfl u would be justt getting ready to trasferr by the time i am budding
ha ha ... But me having a single banana in an entire crop has nothing to do with using HID lights for seedlings. I've discussed that in a separate thread and not going to jack this subject.Never had a problem except bananas right lol. U know what I'm talking about
Im lost but yayha ha ... But me having a single banana in an entire crop has nothing to do with using HID lights for seedlings. I've discussed that in a separate thread and not going to jack this subject.
Most people use too much light when rooting cuttings then they put too much energy into trying to grow up top when you want what little energy they have to be going to them starting roots. What would you saw is the minimum lumens you would need for say your 2 cloning boxes? I had a idea but you broke it down lol its funny because I was thinking they had a inside joke from a previous grow one of them had but I did learn something new. Knew how to get fem seeds but didnt know those 2 terms were related so yay!Late stage 'nanners that come up when a plant is left flowering past it's prime supposedly can be used to make fem seeds. The plant puts them out in a last-ditch attempt to get pollinated. You don't have to sacrifice a whole plant to try doing it either. Crop 90% of the plant leaving some lower branches and buds on it then stick it off to the side out of the way and see what happens. A good plant that you want to keep can be re-vegged like that to if kept under 18 hours or more of light for a few weeks. Good way to save the strain if you didn't think to get clones off it and it turned out to be the bomb.
Kick ass thanks for the posts! Seems easy now so im not so worried, I love learnng this stuff because it opens me and reminds me the power if nature and life itself. Last year I had a branch graph around some wires it was really crazy a fat branch with knuckles and a metal wire in the middles lol thank you for the love! Most people use too much light when rooting cuttings then they put too much energy into trying to grow up top when you want what little energy they have to be going to them starting roots.
Something like a 23W CFL 6" above the tops is lots of light for the first week or so. If starting them under the veg lights with the bigger plants they should be kept far way from the main light and if still too intense then drape some paper towel over the dome to cut it back more.
I've had roots grow on cuttings in a glass of water sitting on the kitchen counter. Last year a broken off branch tip fell into a pail of dugout water I kept in the room to raise humidity. I didn't notice it for a while and when I pulled it out it had a root on it. Too much fussing is the biggest problem getting cuttings to root imo. They want to live!
I put it in some dirt and it grew fine.
