When does a seed become a marijuana plant? A question of legality-

For those of us living in states where we are only permitted to grow 6 marijuana plants when does a seed become a plant? Has this question ever been put forth in a court of law? Kinda scared to buy a pack of 10 seeds and germinate them all only to go to jail.

i believe once it cracks and has sprouted..

Not sure about there but here it's as soon as it sprouts.

As soon as the seed germinates and the tap root has become visible.

Some states allow you to have 2x as many plants in veg than flowering. Check your state laws.

here, the law is once planted in medium, its a plant.
