You can switch to bloom when you start to see pistils stacking up.
If you get a little bit into flowering and start to see yellowing, add back a little veg nute.
There's nothing that says you need to be exclusive with one nute or the other during flowering.

If you've got sativas, you might want to add a little bit of veg nutes to the bloom nutes throughout the first few weeks of flowering, they eat a little more calcium and nitrogen than indica dom strains

is there any reason to wean them off veg nutes before switching to bloom? does anyone use both when making the transition?
yeah....I'm not going to.....I'm just going to do something similar to what Laney said.....pretty much the concept is to get all the veg nutes out of the soil before bloom nutes go in.......When you make any SUDDEN changes, such as nutes or soil, then your plant might not take to well to it and start acting up.....I have heard of ppl switching to veg+bloom nutes and then full bloom nutes....I'm not going to personally
