when is it safe to bug spray the tent?

i want to exterminate the grow area (2 tents). i am just about done drying my last plant from last batch....i have a bunch vegging now. can i exterminate before flower...or, should i wait until i have no activity. i have a free tent (one across from the other in a closet). so, i can put all the plants into one tent, bug spray, wait a day or so, then move the plants and get the other tent sprayed.

so long as it isn't in flower, it should be safe, right?

I'd say it depends on the chemicals you're using. Some break down faster than others. I am not a fan of spraying toxic anything in or near my grow. I don't think the No Pest Strips are good either, just my opinion. What type of insects are you dealing with?

What about the plants themselves? If you have bugs without treating them you'll be going back and forth forever.

Definitely empty it out first. Spray, leave for 3-5 days so the pesticide has time to work, clean the tent with a detergent solution, done.

I would try and make sure you're using a water-based pesticide so it doesn't damage the material that the tent is made of.

I recommend avoiding the use of pesticides on cannabis plants. Instead consider natural pest control methods.

Beneficial insects or organic repellents are definitely okay.

If you do decide to use pesticides, follow the instructions carefully to allow sufficient time for the chemicals to dissipate.

Also try to choose pesticides approved for use on cannabis plants.

no, i do as a preventative like i do with rest of the house. we have tree roaches, spiders etc. i use neem during veg if i have worries, but i have never had bugs on the plants inside. in the garage...well, that's a different story.

i need to exterminate the house...it's a seasonal thing. it's getting hot alreay and the critters are moving. i dont spray on the plants...its the tent and the closet area. i don't want spiders, roaches, silverfish (they love the tents) ,etc. i just want to spray the tents when it's empty, wait a day, move the plants, then spray the other tent, wait a day then fill up both tents.

Make sure a day is enough for the chemicals to dissipate

will do. the advice to wait a few days, then wash the inside of the tent sounds good. i plan to just spray the floor of tent and around the outside. the chance of the buds coming into physical contact with the poison is almost 0. still, a wash on the inside of the tent would fix it up good i think.

the typical souther US type. roaches, spiders, silverfish, etc. i just don't like them all over my house. they have to die.

Typically, I clean my tent with a H2O2 or chlorine spray, then I spray my tent (empty!) with pyrethrum, then wait 4-5 days, spray it again, then after 4-5 more days I wipe it down one more time. Leave all you tools, potting supplies, etc. in the tent. At a minimum, it will give you a clean start. Problem is with some pests they ride in on you, and mold spores are everywhere, so unless you treat your tent like a "clean room", theres no getting around mold.

I'm in the mountains in VA, we get wolf spiders the size of tennis balls as far as diameter and black widows. I've seen silverfish in the crawl space but luckily nothing in the house. I sprayed the exterior of the house along the foundation, the window seals and around doors and that helps out a good bit. Still get tagged by black widows occasionally and it sucks.

i run sterile in perlite. there isn't too much alive except plants....and a couple silverfish i found on the tent wall.

I have black widows in my basement grow room and just leave them alone to catch any bugs that happen to make their way in there. Never got tagged yet knock wood. Don't do crap for thrips or mites tho.

Wolf spiders are very beneficial they kill an eat black widows
