Hey guys, 5 plants in a grow tent/closet, all from random seeds out of bags slightly over a month in veg and I'm wondering when I should switch over to 12/12? Of course I'm looking for over all quality and quantity so I really wanna know the exact correct time to switch the schedule. I have 3 plants all about 18-19" in height. One plant around 16" and another around 12". From the growing medium (soil) to my 600w HPS light it is just under 4 ft around 46". I wanna keep plants around 12" away from light so they could only be 34" in height! I plan on developing some kind of ScroG screen to utilize horizontal growth as well. So should I flower now or wait it out another week or two? Not sure what they are but I've heard some Sativas will triple in size! While that's good I don't want to have a problem on my hands, any advice is appreciated!

As I re-read your post, I was reminded of your wanting a scrog. So, I now think you shouldn't top that much off, but bend your plants so you can start feeding your growth through the screen. You may need a little more time to fill in the scrog. Hopefully someone else chimes in to help you as I haven't done a scrog before.
My suggestion to top was to keep your plants below your 34 inches should they stretch, but a screen should take care of alot of your height concerns.
Hope it all works out for you. Did you read some of the scrog threads? They may have answered your questions already.
Thanks man, I just set up a scroG screen and I'm gonna flip them into flower tomorrow!
