How long did it take them to shoot up that high?

For 3 Oz a plant you'll want to grow them bigger than they are now, my current grow I grew them to about 15" or so and they are about 3.5-4 ft tall now. It's really strain depending for yield, but I'll be happy getting 2oz per plant at the height they are now. Also, are you growing clones or seeds? With seeds I think you'd want them at least 4 or 5 weeks old before flowering or the yield will suck. Good luck man

Growing from seed and yea I didn't plan on flipping them until 5 weeks. But I still will depending on how much more they grow

You can always top or FIM them and super crop them, that takes off a ton of height and will increase yield a lot.

Oh also, I think I read you have 7 feet tall ceiling height, that's plenty for a decent size plant before flowering. Definitely go with the hps for sure for yield

OK cool, that's the best learning experience, I think you'll find it works well, I'm not a grow guru or nothing but I'm definitely sold on fiming, it's worked well for me. I top my seeds after the 2nd set of leaves, here's a pic of the most recent to show you the results, I would definitely recommend it if the issue is a height

Nice. I'm probably gonna wait a day or two to see what the difference is in my plants and if I like it I'm propbably gonna fim a few more of my plants

Rule of thumbs is don't flip until you see pre-flowers at 16/8 for seedlings. In other words, if you flip light schedule to 16/8, it will help the flowering hormone start to build. It should only take about 2 weeks at the very most.

Ummm no, actually I felt extremely lucky after my first grow lol. I still feel like I know shit, not am the shit lol. I think my problem is I overthink stuff but am starting to chill a bit and yes get things somewhat dialled in. Still wait for the girls to fall over dead at the blink of an eye though lol.

I just got done with a bout of mites, you should see my one lowly pathetic plant.... it's totally stretched out, popcorn all over it, stems are stretched out so much that the buds broke them and they're all drooped nearly on the floor..
My main kola... well, it was growing a little to close to the 1000w, so, while I was bending it, OOOPS! SNAP! SHIT! So it's all flopped over like a limp dick at a party full of hot naked chicks.....
The little buds themselves... the pistils on the tops are all brown and nasty, because I had to move it in and out of the tent so many times fucking around with it from the mites, PLUS! Before I even put it into flower, I accidentally chlorine gassed it, by cleaning the inside of my tent with bleach, and then sticking my plant inside and closing the tent... (I forgot what a sealed tent and bleach can do to a plant)....
IN the end, I will probably get about 2 ounces off of it that will get you blitzed out of your mind... LOL!

I have a 7' ceiling and have just barely enough room with real stretchy ones. My plants do sit a bit high though as it is a two tote flood and drain thingy (diy lol). With out the ducted hood I have to watch the bulb heat as well. All things to be considered imo. Also I'm typically running low so speed is a priority lol

LOL sounds like my last grow!!! Sorry it was a bitch. Mine was going to be epic lol. Worse one to date lol. I had so many things happen I was surprised they live but did get to fill 6 jars. So yup gonna be another speedy grow in the fall to fill the cupboards.

Damn, my plants stretched, I got a hermie in my crop, hairs changed colors on some buds (pollinated I think) 3 plants are nute burned cuz I ran 2 strains on one res, lots of popcorn buds, and I didn't have mites lol, at least you're mite excuse is better than mine, because I don't have a good excuse lmao. I keep telling myself "I'll do it proper next time", I hope I don't ever get mites because I think my tent would spontaneous combust with throwing those bastards in to the mix of things lol
