When should i harvest my plants, this site says that when the trichomes are clear that the THC level is at its peak...I have heard otherwise, is this true or not!?!?

what is better, amber or cloudy? if they are cloudy, are they peaking with THC more than amber color?

I have heard that you wait untill the trichomes go cloudy and then you harvest if the plant trichomes go orange amber then your plant wont be at maximum potency, also once harvested make sure you cure the plant for ultimate potency

wait till the bud look readish orange and if the stem snaps not bends
Don't listen to this (above).. Look at the trichomes..... milky with some starting to turn to amber is peak. The trichomes should be standing nice and straight. If they are leaning and amber you are harvesting late.. As for what this guy says about the stem snapping, I think he is talking about when to move from drying to curing.. If not he grows differently than anyone I know..

Best way is to wait till the hairs on the buds turn colour and start to receed back into the bud...then the bud will be at it's peak potency and also be at peak flavour. I hear everyone saying to use the trich method, but in actual fact you shouldn't go by it at all...i've had plants that had trichs 50/50 by week 4, but the hairs were all mostly still white...you wouldn't wanna harvest then. Don't forget there are also 52 more ingredients that make up cannibus, 3 are the main THC, CBD, and CBN, the THC isn't everything, you must have your CBD and CBN at there peaks as well.

You seem to be confused here. You're telling him not to go by trichs, but then your telling him exactly why it's a better method? You must be reading those wrong.

Ha ha..stoners we are...lol.

Anyways...i think the other guy is confused with what i wrote, read it again my friend...i say why NOT to go by the trich method, read what you quoted.

It matters on what you the grower wants the effect's to be, I have harvested all three - Clear t-combs high is alil weak, but a mix of clear/cloudy t-combs R really strong it makes you hyper, cloudy t-combs are give you more of a head high, and amber gives you more of a body high, but to me the best is all cloudy/amber... If you want ur plant at the peak i would have to say the peak is when your t-combs are all cloudy... just try each n see which you like...

Remember the effect of a plant doe's depend on what type of plant your growing...

Thats sum killer insight homegrownboy... U may have just converted one of the trich theory boys on over to the "just look at the stigmas" camp.... I usually take mine when the trich's r cloudy, or milky as I call it, and a touch of amber in sum... But, I'll be damned... I just wouldn't want it to give me that whole couchlock thing, not for my line of work, anyways... Usually if Ive waited too long, and the trich's were all amber, itz been sum "only at night" weed... I think they each have their place in determining when it's "ready".....
