When should I harvest?

Hi, I'm a first time grower and have been growing these since October last year.

I have them growing inside a closet, with CFL lighting. They have been flowering for

I think they are almost ready for harvesting, but I am finding a lot of conflicting views on when the best time is to harvest for this particular strain, based on the colour of the trichomes. They have been flowering for about 6-8 weeks.

This is the taller plant. Any advice would be appreciated. (pics were through a digital microscope usually used for computer hardware.)

Can you post a regular bud shot with a whole plant shot as well ?

Based solely on your tric shots I'd say you have 2~3 weeks left, pics I asked for would help narrow it down :)

Looks like tall plant has mostly milky with a few clear ones mixed in. The short one still looks like mostly clear ones with milky mixed in. Tall one is getting close, depending on the strain it could be time now, or when you see some amber start showing up. Short one is likely about a week behind.

When you do get into that last week or so, harvest different buds with different stages of trichomes. Compare the effects later, then you can decide what suits you. It depends on strain but I shoot for about 80% cloudy trics with 10% or so amber
