when should i start my 12/12

well this is the first time i started from a seed. the last time i already had a plant that was given to me. so far im about 3 weeks into my grow. so i went out and got the book Marijuana New School Indoor Cultivation by Jeff Mowta. but one thing they did not talk about is lighting and when i need to go to a 12/12 day for them. when do i need to start this?

You can go into 12/12 after one month but the longer you leave it in veg, the bigger the plant will be, the more budding sites it will have and the more it'll yield. Personally, I'd let it veg for at least two months but if time or growth space is an issue then you can do it after one month. Happy growing!

yeahh thats what im waiting for, haha its my first grow, haha its like my babies.

veg until you get between 1/3 and 1/2 your desired height.

so let's say you want a 3 foot tall plant. wait until plant is 18" it will end up being 3-4 ft.

if you wait til 12" it'll be 2-3 ft.

if you wait til 24" it'll be 4-5 ft.

etc.

it will at least double and possibly triple in height while flowering.

im on my second or third plant, none previously successful for known reasons.. i was learning. i have a 4 incher that about 1 to 1 1/2 month and has about 5 nodes. small, but very healthy and i saw pistils emerging at the bottom of nodes, so i put it into flowering.. i just wanted to know if i possibly went into flowring too early? what are consequences?? perhaps just a smaller yield??
