I have a 5x5x7 tent with a 600 watt HPS Hortilux Bulb with carbon filter and cool tube as you can see in the photo. I have 5 White Rhino seeds & 4 Kalashnikova in 5 gallon smart pots all from GreenHouse Seed bank.I started tying them down and all the bottom stems are going to the top, but I was wondering when should I flip to 12/12? i'm thinking I have more veg time as I want this babies to be big! I would say they vary from 9 inches to 12 inches. I want them to be bushier so how long should I wait? any tips?

top them then get that light closer. when the light is that far away i have noticed they stretch for the light, so if you keep it as close as possible they should thicken up. and for veg time untill you get a full canopy.

That is fine for light distance. Esp a 600w HPS. Closer is asking for radiant heat issues.

They stretch during the first part of flowering because thats what they do, not to search for light.

To answer the when to flip question...

You should have flipped last Wednesday.

Aww man, that really sux! Now you will have to wait at least 2 more weeks for the next flowering window to come along. :eyesmoke:

Ya say ya wanna 'em big? Being that their 8 inches to a foot tall. If you flip 'em now. They will top out around 1.5-2 feet, or so. No matter what all those women say. Size really does matter  So consider how much more bud you can get from 3-4 foot tall gals? (love them long legged ones...LOL) And all you have to do is have a bit of patience.

Good luck whichever way you decide to grow...er go :bigjoint:

Really? I to tie the branches and release the rope after a week about. My tallest White rhinos are 16 inches and and they average ten inches in height, with many tops! what height you think i should flip without burning my buds?

they stretch at night if the temps are too cold keep them around 22c and that will keep the nodes closer together if the light is further away the plants get less lumens and heat it is a myth that they will stretch for the light.
try it for yourself and realise i speak the truth.
the plants will be short and very bushy.
i use a thermostatic heater to keep my temps at 22c at night.
keep the temps around 17-18c at night and watch they babies stretch every time you enter the room in the morning you will gasp as they will have stretched like mad and end up tall and spindly thin.

Bend em over and it'll help get light to the inner parts of the plant Just for next time a good thing is during veg tie em down and let the lowest branch become the main branch then untie it when you have a nice even canopy. Sweet setup though.
