I’m looking for advice on making edibles with NO psychoactive properties. We’ve been cultivating cannabis since 2018 to incorporate the raw leaf into green juice smoothies. For the personal challenge, my husband has brought his plants to flower and now has several pounds of cannabis stored up. I’ve heard that if I make an alcohol tincture without decarboxilating first, I’ll get a product high in CBD-A and THC-A. I’ve also heard that as the flower ages it also loses its potency.
But our oldest flower is quite dry, and I'm afraid it might naturally be activated. (I once got a buzz off a smoothie made with raw sugarleaf that had gotten dry in the fridge.) I absolutely don’t want to get high. I used to be a smoker but I’ve been sober for 20+ years and it just makes me paranoid and uncomfortable. My goal here is anxiety-calming properties. Any suggestions as to method or technique would be appreciated.
PS I’ve already ordered some seeds for a high CBD variety, so by next year this won’t be an issue but for right now I need a solution so I can put our harvest to use, and avoid the pharms my doctor wants to prescribe.
