When to change nutrients?

I know that you need to change the nutes to have more p-k when the plant is flowering, but when during flower? Like the day after I change the light schedule or wait until sex is shown? I'm specifically looking for advice on GH flora series. Vegetative is 3-2-1 and flowering is 1-2-3. When do I start 1-2-3? Day after changing lights? I feel like it's got to be when I see the sex..

What do you mean 3-2-1 1-2-3 Ive also got the Flora series and have been following the nutrient schedule they provide, also on growweedeasy, if you click the schedule link, if youve never seen it before I personally havent learned to read the plants and what they are needing, havent found a good guide with pictures , symtpoms, try increasing/decreasing this etc
For flora series aggressive vegetative growth its 3 teaspoons green, 2 teaspoons that dark maroon red, and 1 teaspoon the pink one haha. Then for flowering it's 1-2-3 teaspoons. That's all per gallon. 3-2-1 per gallon. Sorry I forgot to mention that lol.

That's what your bottles have too right? Yeah I haven't looked much into diseases either I'm just watching em and if I see anything weird I look it up. Its been working good so far. All I've noticed is a little nute burn and nitrogen abundance, but their doing good now that was like a week ago. That was on my soil mix plants tho. I have 3 in a mixture of fox farm ocean forest and other stuff. Then one in a perlite/vermiculite 3:1 hempy bucket. The one in the hempy I've been using 3-2-1 it's whole life so far. Feeding every time I water. Haven't noticed any nute burn on that one, but a little nitrogen abundance. My bad I got off topic lol. I just have a leaf chart screenshotted of the different nute problems. I compare it every couple days. It's pretty easy to tell when anything is up tho just look at them a min or get a pic of a good looking plant and compare.

What medium do you use with the gh flora series?

Im using coco/perlite

The feeding guide from GH shows the flora series and cal mag is quite a bit less nutes being used. Its along the lines of 1.25ml - 3.75ml / gallon same with the cal mag right on the schedule chart aswell, I just cant post it from my phone, its right in the link I posted though

It also says to feed nutes only every other watering , with a straight ph'd watering between.

But if your plants are eating it and looking healthy, then who cares what a guideline reads?

Hm interesting I just read through it. Ive never heard that. Well the branches on the hempy one are a bit skinnier and it's smaller compared to my others but yeah it looks healthy. I'll try it and see if it starts looking any better. Here's a pic of it. Look at the branches on it compared to the ones on the soil mix plants in smart pots. Those have been growing the exact same time. I did transplant the one thats in hempy from soil and there was a little shock but after 3 days it perked right back up so I don't think that's whats making the difference. You use only flora series on your coco/perlite and you do the growweedeasy guide for feeding? Do your plants look kind of skinny? Or Idk if it's skinny maybe the other branches are fat. Does it look more like my soil or hempy?..
I thought soilless was supposed to grow faster too? These pics are old but theyre the only ones I can find that shows the branches well. The growth difference isn't as noticeable anymore I'll show a pic from yesterday too.

Lol I just realized its probably because i didn't supercrop the hempy only top. Oh yeah and the leaves are a little droopy compared to my soil plants but my soil in the recent pic look like they're getting a little too much light there. Still you can see the slight droopiness compared to soil always.. Any idea why? I dont think i water too often or anything either. After like 2-3 days the resevoir and perlite/vermiculite are completely dry and then I water again.

Through trial and error the last 15 years I add some bloom and a 1/2 dose of big bud a week or so before I flip to flower to "prime the pump" so to say. Bud sites start popping out in a few days after the flip and are getting big by the time stretch is over. Then I do a complete change of nutes and drop the Grow portion then load them up with Micro and Bloom at a 1:2 ratio with a full dose of Big Bud. Lucas Formula style for the remainder of the flowering stage.

During veg they get the 321 kind of feed. They are still in that when I add extra Bloom and the Big Bud to the mix. Stretch is when the plants will feed at the highest rate of any time thru the whole grow cycle so they need lots of everything then including light and fresh air or CO2 added. They will add on as much or more plant material in that 3 or 4 week stretch as they put on the whole of veg.

Wow 15 years thats awesome. Thank you for the info. How long and how much would you say indicas usually stretch?

They stretch less than sativas but still some indica strains can double in height.

A trick I use to limit stretch is to run my veg light thru the stretch. I've been using 400W HIDs so I'll either just leave the veg bulb going for the first 2 weeks of stretch then switch to my HPS or if I need more light just fire up the hps with the veg bulb until then and swap out the veg bulb for the 2nd hps for the rest of the ride.

I use a conversion bulb for veg that runs off an hps ballast so I just have to swap the hps bulb itself. A 15 yo EYE Hortilux that I bought when I started growing up here in '01. Cost a lot but worth every penny. I just bought the same type of bulb that will give me flowering light off my 1000W metal halide ballast. $170 but if it works for 15 years worth every penny. That one is going to be running on my new light rail to do my flowering in an 8x4 grow tent we're installing next to my grow room in the basement. Gonna be really green all winter this year!

That setup sounds awesome! How many plants are you gonna grow? Nice! Do you get better plants like that? That mimics what they'd do outside more right?

If I file to become a legal grower I can do 40 plants indoors with my 8g/day doctors recommendation. So I won't bother filing and grow as many as I like.

A friend wants me to become her Designated Grower, DG, for another 8 plants but she's going to try and get a bigger daily amount so could be more. If I found another med patient that wants me to grow for them then who knows.

I'm working on breeding some crosses I've made so will want to grow lots of smaller ones to weed out the weaker ones or ones that don't have the traits I'm after so may have to grow 60 - 80 at one time. The grow tent will be used strictly for flowering and the grow room it will vent into will be for odd-ball stuff and may be vegging or flowering. The upstairs bedroom will be just for vegging, cloning and keeping mothers. The bedroom closet gets used for starting seeds and clones too.

I don't think that lighting trick really mimics nature but I've used it with plants grown from clones from the same mom over a half dozen generations and they definitely didn't stretch as much doing it compared to switching to straight hps when flipped to 12/12.
