I'm growing a 7-9 wk strain from seed (aurora indica). I started counting the day I started 12/12. I am at about 7.5 wks right now. One of them was ready early... at about 6.5 wks. Another one is scheduled to be plucked in 3 hours. Three more look to be ready in another week. That would put all of them in the 6.5 to 8.5 week range... starting the count after I switched to 12/12... not after buds started forming. I harvest when most of my trichs are cloudy and a few are amber. I grow indoors. I've always started counting the day I switch to 12/12.

if u know what ur doing u can kick them into bloom better and that would be from the moment u switch to 12/12 ..... i agree u sometimes may push/ extend ur harvest date based on how ur buds are ripening but that has nothing to do with the official day u started blooom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your plants don't know what the fuck 12/12 means. Ppl complain that the breeder flowering times are always shorter than it really takes to finish. That's cause breeders count from the day flowers start forming....not the day you switch the light...

Clones are different and flower faster. I'm sure your cheese was cloned. No photoperiod strain flowers in 6 wks after the lights switched
Wtf my strain takes 8 to 10 weeks all dependin on prefrences were did i state it took 6.5 weeks lmfbo some people need to put the pipe down and not all strains wen cloned flower faster than it would normally fron seed beansley it all depends on the maturity of the plant bein put into flower an how do they not know they are bein put into flower lol its obvious they know through photoperiods so im sure you ll agree that the stretch they do in the first few weeks are because its throwin all it can to gain hight over others to gain as much light as it can over others thus meaning that it realises its gone into flower so to get the most it can from light durin flower!!

of course they know what 12/12 means.... just because u dont know how to properlly kick ur plants and whatever u do u drag on the process .. doesnt mean that 12/12 is not the official start of flower.... it is gentically inbedded in them to respond to lighting changes and act appororiatly how difficult is it to understand.....

u are not a breeder so u dont know this , its just ur theory based on ur complaints.... i have many seeds and yes not all of them flowered exactly in the dates stated but most were bang on and in some situations i was my preference to extend their bloom time..

please educate urself before u speak.... flower time begins is from the moment u switch to 12/12. WHATEVER U DO TO BEFORE OR AFTER YOU FLIP THEM IS YOUR PREFERENCE AND BECAUSE YOUR PLANTS TAKE LONGER TO HARVEST DOES NOT MAKE THE ACTUAL START OF FLOWER ANOTHER DATE OTHER THEN THE DATE U BEGIN 12/12 . kapeeesh!!!

Even indoors, flowering doesn't start at switching to 12/12. It can take a week or so before the white hairs start showing up, THAT's when the flowering begins.

But IMO it doesn't matter how long they've been flowering, they're done when they are done, be it 8 weeks or 15 weeks

It's true, calendar age is just a point of reference. I don't harvest off of the calendar...

That's why I keep track of start of 12/12, and also when the first hairs appear. I calculate an offset so I can quickly know both ages from a quick glance at my grow log.

I've given up on going by supposed flowering times. They are never done if I go by that, it's always 2-3 more weeks
