When to defoliate

Outdoor grow
Blue dream x amnesia haze = dementia from Loud Seeds
Plant is 7 weeks from sprout today

Some people say to defoliate, others say not to in veg. Just looking for your opinions. Can i just perform more LST to continue opening it up horizontally to keep the tops spaced further away?

I treat outdoor grows differently compared to my indoors because the sun will provide uniform light levels from canopy to ground. On indoors, I'm trying to maximize the plants canopy to capture higher PPFD values closer to the fixture. That means that lollipoping the understory helps to direct the plants energy to the canopy.
On outdoor grows, I will only defoliate if the plant just absolutely packs the interior with foliage-primarily to reduce any mold/rot issues. I will top my outdoor girls to induce more tops but I tend to let them grow naturally.

Ok @GBAUTO thanks for your tip. So far the grow seems to be going well. Feeding organic nutes every day and she looks good. About once a week i pluck off some dying leaves (always at the base of the plant). She continues to grow daily it seems. 18 tops is what i count, hopefully that's an ok number

Agreed, outdoors is a lot different.

Some people like to cut almost everything off. I myself never cut a leaf. Not a fan of defoliation. Photosynthesis happens in the leaves. You've done a good job training that and your outside. It's your plant but I would leave it for now. Maybe later on towards harvest when mold and mildew could be a threat you might want to clean it up a little.

DD-this early in growth, I'm focusing on developing the structure I want. If lower growth isn't showing signs of development, I'll tend to remove it so the plant will use its resources on good growth. The only thing that prevents growth at the bottom of the plant from getting the same light intensity as the top is being shaded by other growth. You have to decide how you are going to use the resources available to you.

So my plant is useless i presume. As male plants dont produce bud? Since these are supposed to be feminized seeds, will it produce seeded bud?

I don't see any female flowers on there, so that would mean no buds. No it won't produce seeded bud, unless some female flowers pop up. It's supposed to be like 99.9% to be female if it's a good feminized breeder, so that's strange that it only looks male to me.
