when to flower?

i've got 6 nice plants started from seed. i started them in an aero garden but they soon outgrew it. i'started dec 3 and moved the 2 best plants to a dwc bubble bucket setup under a 400 watt hps set to 18/6 using fox farm big grow.they are doing well.my question is--when will i be ready to go to 12/12. i still don't know if any of them are girls and i guess i'l never know if i can't flower them.can i go 12/12 at any time or is there a time when i will know when to go 12/12

U can flower whenever u want, but be sure to take into consideration that once u put the plants in flowering, they will AT LEAST DOUBLE IN SIZE! So be ready for that. Also, how old are the plants? If they've vegged long enough, then u may be able to determine sex already, usually takes anywhere from 7-9 weeks of veggin though.

they are only a bit over 3 weeks now and are very healthy. so let me get this straight. i can tell sex in the veg state if they grow a bit longer. like say 6 to 9 weeks. i figured they had to be flowered to tell sex. man it would be great to tell sex early and leave the vegg state plants alone in their little world and flower only the girls! i'd better get a magnifying glass!

Yep, BUT, The thing is, if ur growin indoors, space has a tendencey to be a big issue. Personally I don't have the room to let em veg long enough to tell that way. I mean, u don't wanna fuck urself when they double or triple in size during flowering! For me, i got like 3 feet to work with, so when my plants are a foot tall, i put em into flowering. But shit, if u got the space, and the lights, and the patience, let em get big, fuck, ya, 10 footers, lol

sweet! thanks for the advice!i think i'll let em grow in the AG and the 2 i put in the DWC i'll let em grow for 2 or 3 more weeks on 18/6. by then i'll either see balls or hairs then i'll flower. i've got the 2 rooms seperated from each other so no light will get from the vegg room to the flower room. this is a blast. thanks man!!!!
