when to flower

hello everyone. i've had all these little ones under an assortment of fluorescent lights (including daylight CFL's and higher wattage tubes) for about a month now, recently transplanted into 2gal pots. plant sizes vary from about 5" to 1.5' tall, and not badly stretched (at least i hope). should i start flowering any time soon. also, when and what type of fertilizer should i be using?

use a grow nutrient for the veg phase and a bloom nutrient for the flowering stage. you can instigate flowering at any time by switching the lighting schedule to 12/12, light/dark. 4 weeks - 8 weeks is the optimum amount of time for vegging, so youre good to flower anytime you want to! try another week and see how it goes, then get going!

3 ft now that i moved the lights up a week ago. i had all the lights very very close to the plants so they wouldn't stretch. it's a closet assortment.

the plant in my profile pic is my smallest, at about 6 or 7 inches.

how tall from the top of the plant pots to the highest point the lights can go

There probably going to double in size when you have been flowering for a couple of weeks, I'd say your safe to flower any time from now, bigger plants does not always mean better yield and better quality

yea that's what i was thinking. i'm going to wait a week, continue to use blood meal, monitor the ph, and all that. any recommendations on a budding fertilizer? (lowe's availability is about how far i'm allowed financially right now.)

I gave mine about 2 months from my readings people seemed to wait for about that amount of time or until the plant was 1ft high and bushy before making it flower.

from seedling, a month in, my largest is at 1ft. 9.5in. the smallest is now 9in. as far as bushiness goes, the diameter from leaf-tip to tip is at least 8" for any given plant. i figure in a week, no plant will be under a foot so it'll be time. the surprise to me was how quickly some of the plants have grown, because they all weren't planted on the same day (they vary along 5 days of planting). i also don't want them to get toooo large b/c of odor worries. i actually want a lower yield (i know that sounds dumb). i have semi-understanding landlords.

beyond that, any ideas on a specific blooming fert? liquid? organic?

new threads draw a lot of attention. Where do i get a high potassium (K) fertilizer for flowering. i found shultz w/ a 5-15-15 ratio. is that adequate?? it's certainly not organic. i'm scared.

The shultz will work.
You want to start out at 1/4 strentgh of the recomended dose of nutes.
Mix with water that has been setting out for atleast a day. (evaporating)

I think I might would use Miracle gro bloom before I would use shultz.

You should make sure the nute mix is thuroughly mixed.

hey, thanks everyone.

I found my first white hairs today!!! I've been flowering for a week total. I decided to go with the shultz. I was using blood meal before and finally got a ph meter (6.7-7.3). Now the ph is always right around 7.

This site is the only reason i can do this.
