Alternating nodes is a sign that the plant is mature. I wait 40 to 50 days. When i wait that long i get a shit load of branches and 3 to 4 oz per plant.

Is that alternating nodes on the main stalk or the branches?

Realistically, you could flower whenever you want.
But most people wait until there are a certain amount of
....damn, whats is called? I dunno, but they wait until there are
a certain number of sets of leaves then flower. But you can also
veg them until they show pre-flowers.

I have a question, how many plants do you think I could veg with a 400w
metal halide?

Ya cant flower any time, but the plant wont start flowering until its mature. 3 to 4 plants

I just said anytime because if you wanted to, you could 12/12 from
seed.

And thanks for the reply.

Well charlesweedsmore is flowering 13 plants with a 600 watt? Does 200w really make that big a
difference?

If you do a little simple math and figure 400 is 2/3 of 600.
2/3 of 13 would be 8.66 so we'll round up to 9.
I was also vegging when I had 9. Now I have 4 them in flower (2 days now lets hope for girls!)
But hey I may be talking out my ass here.
1 to many bongsmilies.:peace:

guys i had 10 seeds from seedbanks and i am growing 10 plants in fact. ( 5 ww and 5 skunk1,both feminized )
but i used my 3 bagseeds as guinea pig to see what i should do my real plants. ( overwater,under/overfertilized,to learn how to transplant.. etc. )
if space is a problem,i can easily give up those 3 bagseed plants.
if some of my feminized plants go hermie,i can use my bagseeds plants as reserve .

and 400W hps = 55000 lumens but 600w hps = 95000 lumens.there is almost 100% difference .

btw,1 gallon = 4 litre .

So if you have 6 litre pots thats approx. 1.5 gallons correct?

I've read that for every foot of plant growth, you need 1 gallon
of soil/ whatever you're using to grow plants with....

So 1ft plant= 1 gallon pot

Thats just what I've read.

But maybe that isn't true, Idk.

If I were you, I would transplant them when they are just about to outgrow
the 6 litre pots.

Here is something that might help. Buy some vitamin-b1 from your local nursery, follow the directions and dilute the vitamins in water.

Pre-moisten the soil in the new pot you will using with the vitamin b-1 dilution, and then transplant the seedlings. Water again with the b-1 solution after transplanting. My grandma buys this stuff because she says it helps the plants recover quicker from the shock of transplanting.

And this is just something I do...... I always pre-moisten soil before planting seeds, then put the seeds on top of the damp soil, then cover with a thin layer of dry soil, and then water that soil that I've just put on top. It helps if you're worried about planting seeds too deep. I noticed when I did this, my onions sprouted about 4 days earlier than the ones I just stuck in the soil.

I know that was irrelevant, but I just wanted to share that.

Good luck with the transplanting.
