when to harvest this particular plant?

Hi all, attached is a pic of the top of one of my blue cheese plants. The pistills are all turning a rusty colour and withering, this has been going on for the last week now(which is better visible when the picture is enlarged). I've been checking this plant in particular as it doesnt seem to be growing in height or producing more bud,it's been the same for a couple of days now.Can anyone tell me whether they think this plant is ready to put into 36 hours darkness before harvesting or shall i leave it in the grow room with the others? This particular plant had some serious stress when it was in veg mode cos i overwatered it and put it too close to the lights and burned the fan leaves(idiot nubie!),I thought it was gonna die but to my surprise it recovered but is a bit on the small side in height(19 inches)but it did get really bushy and wide.
Being my first grow,i'm getting impatient to have my first toke of my first home grown produce so if i did harvest the plant now, would i be cutting the plant short on its life cycle thus making the smoke weaker or from the description that ive given would it not make a lot of difference

Dj,

Good Job on your first grow :leaf:

You can get a little microscope ($12.95 at RadioShack) and look at the trichs. When they reach the desired color chop chop.

There are some good threads on the whole harvest and cure process, in the Harvest and Cure Section.

Looks about ready to me from here. :joint::peace:

Oh sweeeeeeeeeeeet!Yea,i bought a little jewellers magnifying glass today in fact. The secretions from the trichomes are still clear but lots of it.I watched a vid on Youtube which said to harvest the plant when the secretions become milky but it's just that this plant isnt growing any more.I'm gonna check it tomorrow to see if there's any difference and if not..........boom,it's 36 hours darkness for you my little friend!!!
Oh Golddog, thanks for the compliments on the grow,i'm well pleased how they've all come out considering this is my first attempt:-))

Beautiful! Great job. IMO you should wait for the trichs to get milky, it's tempting to jump the gun right now, and if you cut early you could kick this great grow right in the nuts. Think of a tomato, they stop growing too but then they ripen. It's ripening. Chill and monitor for another week. I cut my first 2 grows too early and was outmatched by spider mites the third time, cutting flower two weeks short. Its a heartbreaker Read the harvest and cure thread like they said, it's good stuff
