When to pull the dome?

Hey Folks, my lil girls popped today and are raising their heads,
Pulled the towel off the dome, left the heating pad on them and put a 23w cfl over them.
Question is, when to pull the dome off and let the girls go?

Thanks

Domes are not necessary for seedlings but some people rely upon them , I just maintain adequate moisture within the media being used . It is best to remove the dome and let them breathe ..:bigjoint:

if you have them in a smaller container i wait until the roots come out the bottom then stop with the dome when i transplant to the final (2nd) container.

I clone straight into soil and I don't think you really need a dome, but if it makes you feel better. I still use one for the first three days.IMG_0286.jpgIMG_0338.jpgIMG_0339.jpg

Seedlings have roots from the start, allowing them to take in water. The cotyledons then provide the first initial boost of energy and food supply until the first set of real leaves appear. The dome is crucial for cuttings because there are no roots to absorb water. The high humidity from the dome prevents transpiration from the leaves. Seedlings aren't facing the same shortcomings.

they have a yap root you want a dome untill it has a root system not just the tap. the tap root isint the best working it needs to grow the little hairs (forget the name) thats why i say wait until it pokes out a small container or about a week or so.

and to the azp guy, you want me to believe you had a seedling go from a tap root to having 4 nodes in 3days. how you do that takes about a week for them to look like plants with almost everything ive grown sure your not rooting a clone and calling it a seed

Hey Folks, Day 7 since putting into the Jiffy Pot.
Girls are 2.5 in tall and devoloping their 2nd true leaf!
They were banging on the top of the dome by day day 4,
Removed the dome and keep checking and watering, they have been on the heat pad the entire time.
I swear I see a root tip peaking out of the Jiffy pot already!
