when to sex

hi i had 6 seeds pop around dec1 and put in soil the same day ,they are 18 in tall or so ,i was wondering when can i 12/12 them so i can sex them and how long should it take to show plus its ok to put them back to 18/6 after they show so i can clone them...thanks

I would say wait for the plant to put on some bud,,, I would say just before the hairs turn brown

I think u wanna take clones of the seed plants while still keeping them in veg. flower one of each, and you should be able to tell which of the seed plants are females/mothers or not.

yes, and no. it will show preflowers when its mature while vegging, however they are not always reliable so its still advised to wait till you switch to 12/12 and they show they are male for sure to kill them.

should take a week or less to determine the sex ofter going 12/12, yes you can go back to 18/6 however you are going to have some pretty tall plants if you don't start flowering soon. good luck

cut the clones and carefully label which clone is from which plant and then flower the *mothers*, not flower then revert to veg and then clone. you can also clone from a flowering plant, lots of people have been brainwashed to believe its not as good as a vegging plant clone.

At 18 " tall you should be able to get a rough idea of sex now. The tall ones usually male. And they should have preflowers. You probably dont want to turn them back on 18/6 as big as they are, they will just be too big by the time you finally flower. I would take clones now. Take a look in the FAQ

hi right after i asked for help i checked out my babies and 1 is showing some nice hairs already ,she's about 20 in tall now but the thing is they are still on 18/6 light should she show before 12/12..? thanks ps. they are white widow from seed.

its normal for a plant to show preflowers when its mature enough to start flowering, thats the plants way of saying its ready to flower whenever you want. your sure they are preflowers and not stipules?

i'm fairly sure you are seeing preflowers but i just wanted to make sure.
