Can anyone advise when I can alter lighting times so plant can start flowering??
Have included a few pics. My plant seems more "spindely" than others I have seen on this forum. Someone suggested I should prune away the larger leafs at the top of the plant, is that a good idea??

You can alter the lighting time whenever you'd like to begin the flowering period. Your plant is stretched(reaching for the light). All you have to do is put the light closer to solve this problem. If you get some lights around the side it will bush out. You could also tie it down to encourage bushy growth instead of vertical growth. Do not prune any leaves. You can find out why in growFAQ I believe. They store sugars for photosynthesis & carry out functions -I'm not sure of this which is why I recommend reading. Don't cut them though. Try squeezing the stem & branches till you hear them crush - don't snap them. This is supercropping. It will help your stem & branches grow stronger.

You can start flowering whenever you like, you just need to think about how much space you have, when you switch to 12/12 your plant will grow at least 2-3 times the size it was before you switched to 12/12, so bear this in mind.

Also the plant does seem to be stretching, what kind of lights are you using and how far from the plant are they?

Hope this helps.

if they're 2 inches away, i don't see why they're that stretched. how old is the plant?
