when to start in northern california

I'm a complete newbie and was thinking of starting in mid-April after the last frost to plant the seeds. does that sound good? Thanks!

sweet man. i checked out your watering system, very legit. i was thinking of something like that as well although I'm trying to grow on the roof of a tree house so I might have to hang the drum in the tree haha. any suggestions for growing in norcal? I'll be using pots on the rooftop and either using a system like yours or hauling water. what time can i expect them to bud? any help would be appreciated man, i haven't talked to anybody else from nor cal growing outdoors.
