When To Start Nutrients For Coco Coir?

Perlite attracts green algae
Straight coco
Coco drinks more so be prepared to feed everyday once roots start to take off

Also if your using city water I'd stick to it because coco needs calcium and magnesium from the water

Sorry for late reply again ise use 50/50 perlite/soil there in 10L pots ,guys would u say tha thease are small tfor there age they are 25days old today been fed only plain water until 4days ago i started them with 1ml to every 2l of water beacase some were staring to turn yellowy colour so thought they was lacking nutrients ,can u you guys give me sum help info plz thanks

Also 4 the people who dont no thease are auto plants all different strains ,feeding with bio grow and bloom

Turning yellow and growing real slow is a sign of too much salt in your coco. Did you flush your coco coir several times before using it? Ive flushed mine three times and still had too much salt. When you flush your coco coir make sure the run off is below 50 ppm if you use distilled water.

You can only see the algae on top because perlite is white. Just below the surface there is no algae because there is no light. Perlite helps in so many ways, you can not over water if your coco coir has 20% or more perlite mixed in and you also do not have to worry about root rot. It also loosens up and creates air pockets in the medium so that the roots have extra room to push through.

Sory for late reply no mate i never flushed with coco cuz i dident relise ye had to ,also yer sum are okay sum arre okay nice healthy green but sum are abit yellow an slow growth

I agree I flushed my Coco repeatedly with boiling water

I know this is an old post, but there's so much misinformation still out there regarding coco.

Your seedling should never turn yellow or be nearly that small at 25 days. In the pics they're the size of maybe an 8 day old healthy plant. The coco should have a weak nutrient solution in when the plant begins photosynthesis as the cotyledons are fully open. Soil already has a degree of nutrients when the plants start off and this isn't soil.
