never harvested before. I have two girls about 7 weeks into flowering, and to be quite honest I picked a baby nug and it works...even though I know for an indica its they say 8 weeks is mature. I was wondering, because I have heard of the variances in the type of high depending on when you harvest, earlier I read is a more uplifting high, and waiting allows the THC to turn to CBds which gives the more downer stony feeling. Well when they talk about an 8 week flowering period does that mean that the early harvest would be at 8 weeks, and if i wanted that stony high that I would wait a week or two after 8? just wondering because 7 weeks in I already know the stuff gets me high, but waiting will likely increase potency, but I am shooting for the more uplifting high. No, I do not have a magnifier yet.

First of all what strain are you growing. I am going to have to guess that since you mentioned it was supposed to be an 8 weeks strain. Usually ones that fall into that category are indica dominant, autoflowers and some sativa exeptions like ak-47. Lets assume you do have an indica dominant plant and if you chopped today the high will be more cerebral because if you had a microscope the trichromes would be milky white and no sight of amber colored trichromes. Lets say you let it go 8 weeks like the strain suggests that you do or longer. You will have a larger yield for the last three weeks of a flowering plant has the most growth in terms of bud production. You would also have amber colored trichromes that you cant see meaning it will start to lean as a couch lock strain. Its ultimately your call because you want your end product to match your specific needs from the plant. Nice if your getting the right high when your buds are not even completely psychoactive ( takes about two weeks cure to meet that requirement) is a good sign in terms of potency.

most of indica dominant strains i've grown are ready at about 80 days from germination.

really work on getting a loupe or small scope. i got an adjustable pocket microscope on the net for under $8 = free shipping. that takes out a lot of guess work.
many experience growers can tell by looking at them. i can't. GL with your harvest.

yes it is a mostly indica strain. "caramelicious". Shes looking good, and this is my first time so I am anxious, but I will try to hold out that extra week or two for yield purposes. I have a low tolerance for weed anyways so I don't think I am going to get too picky about the type of high this time....
