You got it! Wal Mart! They could get you into some CFL's or fluorescents for under $50.00.

I always look in the Farm and Garden section of Craiglist and do searches of 215, 420, hydroponics, and hydrofarm and always find tons of stuff. New and used. This all depends on where you live to.

Insidesun.com look into getting a 250watt hps. Low heat output & good lumen output for two plants. Good prices.

Tight budget? Floros. T5 tubes. Or 6500k for vegg & 2700k for bloom. Compact floros. K is the kelvin value or color temperature.

Go to home depot.
Buy a power outlet strip (5$) or 2
Buy plug in lightbulb converters (1$ each..maybe less)
8 27 watt cfls..or higher (depends)
boom

Go buy a #1 a powerstrip #2 3 bulb to outlet connecters #3 3 y-connecters #4 6-pack of 6500k 26w cfl's for veg and later on get 6-pack of 2700k cfl's for flower and wa-la a cheap alternative to other lights! Though nothing beats a good ol' MH/HPS set up but you can see amazing results with this set up!

Can those 6 26watt floros vegg a plant to about 3-4feet tall? I need a cool lighting system for a vegg closet.

By lightbulb converter u mean it plugs in and u screw the bulb directly in? So essentialy you end up with a power strip with bulbs hanging off it? Correct? I ask because that sounds better than what I did. I took a board. Drilled 2 holes in it. And used silicone to put a ceramic lamp socket in each hole and wired it that way. But t uses 2 outlets. I like ur way better. Please let me know if the way I described ur setup is right. Going to walmart in a few hours to get the stuff!

That's exactly right dude! They work pretty sweet and yeah you can veg that tall but you might have to add some side lighting to get full growth around the plant! Here is a pic of the y-connecters and powerstrip adapter

I know you can get more powerful lights than the 26 watters i just figured since he was lookin to go a cheaper route that i would suggest those since they are a bit cheaper and still work good ya know!!

Gonna try that way but I'd like a little more spacing than a power strip offers. I need about 2.5-3 feet long and mYbe 1.5-2 feet wide. Any suggestions??

Just get 2 strips and get 4 sets of connecter's and lights and place them 1-2 feet apart and that will give you a very good lighting set up!

Sorry false info. They were 300watt equavalent. 68actual watts. But they are big bulbs. I can imagine the actual 100watters must be bigger.

Big bulbs!

Any suggestions on making a setup like this height adjustable?? Also what's keeping the bulbs from slipping out of the powerstrips??
