Is that a Cary Audio peice I see in the background ? Awesome gear bro .

I love tube gear & have some Cary gear in my main system , I use Cary CAD 5500 tube buffer & a Cary 5500B linestage in the big main system not pictured in our living room .

I see your TT is covered what is it & what cartridge are you running in it , I ran Sota TT's for yrs till McIntosh started making them then had to go all Mc & get their TT .

we rock it with a classic…

would love to experience your set up, because you really can't just listen to a system like that!
The McIntosh line arrays are unbeatable imo as far as true full range speakers go , they are so focused & clear I can hear Miles Davis taking a breath between notes on his horn , we have one of the systems playing nearly round the clock as we listen more than watching tv or movies .

thats crazy, someday i will know that feel…

until then, the astro-sonic is not a bad option, especially for being 50 years old or so.

No Cary audio, not quite that high end unfortunately. I've got Paradigm S2 bookshelves and REL stereo subwoofers reproducing a Rega P3 deck running an Ortofon blue (great cartridge) into an Octave v70 integrated amp. I fell in love with the sound out of such a low power system, the treble range and the colour of the music and all - but I dream of owning a full range setup like yours,

ARE THOSE LINEAR ARRAYS?

Shit man you've got some damm nice gear , not Best Buy consumer gear for sure , it sounds like a well thought out rig .

Yes the McIntosh art 22 speakers are line arrays , each bass cabinet has two 12 inch woofers & an 8 inch midrange , the tweeter columns have 21 one inch silk dome tweeters in each column , we liked them so much we bought a 2nd pair .

Two yrs ago Mcintosh speaker designer legend Roger Russell sold me his personal McIntosh XR 290 line arrays that are a big step up from the 22's , the line arrays sound alot like Martin Logan electrostatic speakers only with bass below 20Hz & a more distinct high end , the sweet spot is anywhere in front of the system from the way the array disperses the sound , only drawback is the huge footprint with 4 cabinets per system .

You must be in the business, am I right? I've never experienced the sound out of anything that primo, close your eyes and it must truly feel like a live performance with that soundstage. Thanks for sharing that, its like visualising a new goal in life.

Where is @Bugeye ;) U gotta see his grow op - sometimes the set/setting can take the music higher, and he's at the top of the hill, literally.

I went to a festival with a guy who said he smoked in a swat van when they went inside a donut shop or something. It sounded like complete bullshi but within an hour of being there, he spent all his money on acid and shrooms, ate a ten strip and was a wearing a handmade shirt with dose me written on it walking around with a plastic guitar filled with rum punch (it even had a bendy straw and buttons on the neck that made it do solos). When I saw him the next day I looked down and his shoe was missing the entire toe part and his sock was missing the end, so his toes were just sticking out. I now believe the story about the swat van lol.

Yes & no , I know a McIntosh & Krell dealer who sells me gear at cost plus 5% if I'm gonna keep it , if I have a buyer lined up we split the profit , you know all those high end brands are in store purchases only with no internet sales allowed by dealers so I'm his black market guy , I move gear for him thru EBay & Audiogon.com.com so he can make his quota so i get to try alot of different gear .

In this house we smoke in my lounge area only , this is our smoking lounge in the basement of our winter house & the only place we smoke here .

In our summer house we use my listening room to smoke , it's a much smaller room that only houses my hifi system & 2 recliners for us to listen & smoke , the pic is taken from the listening chair .

WHOLEY FUCKIN SHIT>>>>>I thought I had a decent system.....I have Yamaha, Marantz, Monster Power and Polks..with Audioquest wire
