So anyway -What great college of Cannabis did this tester go to? I would REALLY have to see these guys sort out differing "colors" to test! My tester always wanted uniformity in samples!

Everything you say here goes against everything that has been researched and understood by growers for YEARS!

Clear is "unripe" !!

After some of the shit I went through with him a cpl years back - I'm surprised I'm not!

kinda surprised he came back too.....o_O
From what i understand trichs dont really ripen. They are as potent from the day they get full size as they are weeks down the road. Try smoking some young bud. Get just as high as from finished bud. Trichs merely degrade with UV or with bad roots.

As for the lab... ill see if i can get copies of the reports with the headers on them for you.

Not at all. In fact, i have rarely seen amber trichs in any of my grows. Amber trichs should be far and few between if your plants are healthy, unless you are supplementing with UV light. That is, after all, primarly what the resin is for...to protect against UV.

Note: the amber have seen in other grows have also shown browned roots.
What? No brown roots do not have any correlation to "amber trich's"!

*SIGH* You need to do some more serious research !
You have 2 guys with over 80 years of collective, hands on experience, telling you your mistaken! I'm being polite here. At this point you should take it at that and quit your misguided posting that does no more then pass around FALSE information.

Smoke young bud and get just as high? What crap. Your lack of actual knowledge, has again become evident.

Ok so riddle is talking about a totally different thing here, clear Amber and cloudy Amber are IMO, two different things going on, mind you I have only seen clear Amber and purple, and once pinkish triches very few times in my life. I truly believe cloudy Amber is what ever is happening is the end game, the ripening. Sorry Doc but my milky harvested pot does not give me a head ache but I think that has to do with a proper dry and cure as well. I enjoy the earlier harvest only because it doesn't bag me out and I find it to be more of a clear high if that makes sense. Is this true for everyone, no I don't believe so. Does the product lose potency, no it just changes the subtle effects for me anyways. These arguments are mute I think because I feel everyone is different and given time you will find out what suits your wants and needs

I'm being polite too. I don't know what false information you're talking about. Facts are facts. Just because you have believed something for 40 years doesn't make it true. Now that laws have relaxed true science is being done in proper labs with this flower and is debunking a lot of the old school myths. I mean people thought the earth was flat for how long?

So let's recap. All I've said is that clear trichs are the most potent, as proven in lab tests, not just the one I was at. This is verifiable on your own. A trich is just a resin to protect against UV light and its THC content remains about the same from the start of its life until near the end. Easily verifiable in any lab. Cloudy trichs are in decline and begin to lose potency. Easily verifiable in any lab. Amber trichs are degraded and have lost most of its potency and ability to protect from UV. Easily verifiable in any lab.

And in my experience, I have seen very few amber trichs before the buds have finished swelling to full size, which I hear should be the case in healthy plants. The few instances that I have seen significant amounts of amber were in plants with compromised roots.

I don't know what is so hard to believe. I guess it's just hard to admit error in a rule when you've lived by it for so long. But indeed, the earth is round, yo.

Are these labs you speak of usin micro needles to extract the resin from inside the tric heads to test? because that was done back in the 90's and goes against everything you are sayin?

"Whole gland heads were removed individually from leaf or bract surfaces under a stereomicroscope with a tungsten microneedle and placed in vials containing chloroform to extract cannabinoids. The needle was rinsed in chloroform after collecting each gland to avoid cross contamination between collected glands. Samples of twenty and 100 glands were collected for different sampling periods and analyzed by GC"

Ummmm.....

With all due respect... that document does not say what you think it does. I read the whole thing only to find out it does not contradict anything i have said....because it is totally unrelated. It was a test study for canabanoids...

image.png Does this not show the loss of THC over time? Sorry just glanced at the article and yes I'm curious as well. Almost 100% of the articles I've read and popular belief says that as it turns cloudy Amber (more brown IMO) it is degrading if that's the right word.

With all due respect, that IS the study that started the whole Clear, Cloudy, Amber is bad thing after it was mentioned in High Times, here is the RIU thread ,,,,,,

Boy it sure was easier 40 years ago when I was driving nails threw stalks, pulling every sun leafs off, and harvesting when the hairs turned brown :)

Okay. I heard of that High Times article. But... I still don't see anything in that link that indicates that anything I have said here is wrong. So I'm not sure what you're getting at....

Anyway, I forgot to answer before ...yes... trichs were separated and graded then tested in groups .... clear vs cloudy vs amber... at the lab I was at. that was the whole point. Also, new clear trichs vs old clear trichs.... virtually the same potency.

So there is no window when trichomes are amber for best for best time then?
Just pistils and clear to cloudy trichones for best indicators?

Can we see the lab reports?

Been around the block with him b4 :wall:.

I quit! I KNOW the truth......That's enough for me. Just hope these posts don't influence the young and gullible .....

Good luck!
These posts???? Almost everything out there says that Amber is the start of the degrading THC, not scientific but none the less believable. There is so much conflicting shit out there re: canabis, thank god it's basically grows itself.
