Where to buy Lamp Sockets

For the life of me I can't find a website or store that sells Pre wired Lamp Sockets. I'm trying to do a CFL grow and am planning on using just plain lamp sockets hanging by their wires. I don't want to buy 10-12 dollar lamps at walmart just to bust em up.

I need ALREADY WIRED ones, since I know nothing of electrics or wiring . I've found plenty of Lamp sockets by themselves but none already wired. Can you even buy such a thing?

Yeah, Lowes and Home Depot have 'em. They're called pigtails, a little over 3 dollars each. No they don't have a power cord on 'em - but that's easy.:peace:

wiring a socket couldn't be easier. 3 colours, connect at the labeled point.

i bought a pair of T8 lights, didn't come with any wires, so just ripped up a ketle lead and did what i guessed to be right, and they work jsut dandy

The only thing to remember about that is the ribbed wire always goes to the Neutral (white) wire.

Thnks for the replies guys. I'm going to venture out to Home Depot to buy some and some power cords. When I get back, think someone could point me to an easy how to on wiring a power cord to one of these?

Buy an extension cord in your desired length (HD sells 15ft for like 2 bucks). Do check the label to be sure the one you pick will support your desired watts and amps. Cut off the end with the holes. Strip the wire about three quartes of an inch. Twist the ribbed side of the wire to the white socket wire. (Very important!) Twist the other side of the wire to the remaining black wire. Use twist nuts or electrical tape to hold the wires/cover them. Done.:peace:
