Where to Find Cabinets

What are good stores...preferably that I can visit physically although online is okay too, that has good cheap cabinets or wardrobes that could feasibly be used for a cheap grow cab. I am having trouble finding a really useful cab, especially since I would like it to be a 2x2 area...although i suppose 2 2x1's or a 4x1 could work as well. In conclusion where is the best place to pick up a cabinet that could be modified & used for a grow?

if you want the steel locking cabinets try a used office place or goodwill...craigslist is always good for used office furniture

FDitty, you have a great cabinet there and cheap to boot, I;m just not sure that it has quite the space I want as I plan on trying hydro for my first grow.

skinny1, I do have a goodwill in town and I scoped out a used furniture place in town, hopefully one of these can help but I dont have high hopes for my small town.

Keep it up with the suggestions, I might go with FDitty's but I would like something a bit larger.

I just ran across the perfect mother keeper box at the local U-haul. Its the "Grand Wardrobe" for $11.95 This box is 48x28x28 with a metal rod across the top for hanging a small CFL light bar. 2 fans and a few CFL bulbs would be perfect home for a mother plant or a (1) plant grow.Would take a little tweeking to prevent a fire.But would work well lined with foil or mylar.Just a thought.

That sounds almost about perfect, now if only I had a U-Haul near me...

might want to try k-mart or wally world. look in department stores. if you can try to find some thing made out of wood. then you don't have to worry about the light leeking through the sides. because if you don't get plastic that is thick enought it will show light through the sides. then there goes your stealth. maybe even build your owen box.

Habitat for Humanity restore is where its at. I got my Cab for 30 bux. There where many to choose from just depends on your grow. Keep in mind anything you buy you will have to do a little fabricating to fit you grow so keep it cheap. Why people buy expensive cabinets/wardrobes for growing baffles me.

i got mine on the side of the road for free used to be a bathroom sink cupboard put a piece of particle board painted inside n out.10 buck in material n its 3x3x20in put in 4 68w cfl at 2500k n 5 48w 6500k n 3 computer fans.w 75-80 temps.its lovely..scrog super lemon haze x 8 12-12 from clone.

Well I went out for recon today and found that walmart has a nice 24x15x60 cabinet for 54 dollars, and a plastic one that is slightly bigger for 72 dollars. At a local thrift furniture shop I found a nice kitchen cabinet for 5 dollars but it was oddly shaped and would need some fix up. Now I am not much of a fix up guy which is why I have started considering a grow tent. I found this one on ebay for a decent price I think still more expensive than a cab though, but at least I know its build quality should be nice.

So, what do you guys think? I am leaning more towards woden 54 dollar cab or grow tent at this point. I also dont like the low portability of the wooden one though...
