Which autoflower are you growing at the moment and why?

Putting in a new house now so currently not growing anything... will be growing some sweet seeds Crystal Candy and Cream Mandarine because they should stay small and finish quick and honestly I just want to get another grow under my belt for some more experience.

that's where I'm at with my solo cups grows . I'm really doing it cause I've never tried and I have a ton of beans so why not learn more?
let us know how that crystal candy and mandarine turn out! I'm interested in your opinion might buy some! Running a creme caramel from them myself outdoors and i abused her by putting her out in the Oklahoma spring, will learn better.

I just harvested my first 4 autos, all mephisto, outdoors in about 15 hours of light (0530-2030) I had heard them built up as quality auto breeders that took care to preserve the character of the strain when they put out an auto flowering version and at first pass they delivered.

I will post a grow thread on here when I do it. I still have a lot of work to do first... I have about 900sf of hardwood flooring to lay right now.

ive been hearing a lot of rocking from the boat named ILGM, what's the issue with them these days? last year they were stellar this year has been a disaster. too many mix ups happening for me to continue with them
Dunno, I purchased these about 6 yrs ago. At least they germinated. Can't say that for the other 25 seeds I've tried (still have 3 WW to try but the other 7 went nowhere). ILGM are the only seeds I've had problems with in 6+ yrs. Any other seeds I've had would germinate if you breathe heavy on 'em. lol
I'm just glad I didn't try growing the ILGM beans when I got them, I'd likely have given up on growing.

My seed collection allows me to perpetually grow a room of autos and photos...as I have for over 15 years, with my current crop of autos including Mephisto Sweet & Sour, Fastbuds GSC & Blue Dream, and Rocbud....Purple Scoops, Magic cookies, Pineapple Sunrise alongside Rocbud photos Razzle Pie and Creature.
I grow bonzai style ( small pots) just for my own needs and lil gifting...potency changes little to none with larger yeilds so any healthy plant, bonzai or monster, are pretty much the same in potency.
As I grow everything under 12/12, everything flowers...
Imagine starting out ant cannabis without forums etc....that's how it was back then and we still grew a bunch of weed.

I think the two telltale things with ILGM to me are that they're adding big-name strains all the time on short turnarounds (Zkittles became popular and suddenly they were carrying it in both regular and autoflower), and that they don't have much in the way of consistency. What that makes me think is that they're not doing much in the way of breeding, just getting cuts, selfing them, and selling the S1s. This would also explain issues with herming.

Their customer service is good about offering credit or free seeds for failed germination, but failed germ is common (they probably mix in old seeds).

Despite all that I think there are some good phenos to be found, and you can grow fine cannabis with their seeds, but at relatively premium prices, I think you can just do better for your money.

That's interesting. How do you find the quality/potency/harvest weight of photos vs. autos with 12/12 light?

Well actually, regardless of yeild, quality doesn't change imo...as long as other primary environmental conditions are in spec.
My yeilds for autos are approx. .5-.6 oz per ltr medium making a usual harvest about 1.5 +....under approx 60wsqft...
Photos are in 2-3 ltr pots, only vegged 3 weeks, and I keep them small in stature by top/trim/defol ...recently got 2-3 oz off a few so around 50% more smoke with about 50% more time so I only do it for shits and grins and to keep each honest by direct comparison.
Again, I've been growing bonzai trees 50 years and weed 20.....some habits die slowly.

If it works for you, that's all that matters. I've only been growing weed for about a half dozen years. Started with photos indoors and out, switched to autos outdoors to better match my short grow season, ended out buying so many seeds I tried them indoors, now it's all I grow. I imagine they are prefect for a perpetual grow, but haven't tried one because even with LEDs I can't handle the heat of growing indoors in the summer. So for me it's summer outdoor, winter indoor.

The first time I grew autos indoors, I grew them without a tent on a tabletop under 12/12 lights at about 73º with the lights on. I will say I had no issues with the plants at all, they produced little but were very healthy and happy and what they did produce smoked well. I moved to 19/5 lights in an enclosed space, and that's where the learning curve got steep. Up the lights and temps and everything else -- nute balance, ph, etc. -- becomes more critical. So if you're happy and they're happy, it's all good. Only reason to turn things up would be if you need more or get bored, I suppose.

Too funny. 3 friends were within 0.2 of that number last run.

Running a White Widow from Seedsman to if the product is defective or operator error is occurring. Too many gripes over them forced me to run one. Amended soil and tap water till 3 days ago. Only in sun for 5 days. And top cola and one node and shade leaf mauled by the cat. With a few test bites below. Operator error as shown so far. I hate autos. Fortunately I love plants. Flowering for a week now. Week 6.

Are you saying they only got about an oz?

Have 3 Nurple Purple around day 35, 3 Auto Colorado Cookies day18 and 3 photo G-13's I didn't realize.they were photos till the Lemon Haze Autos I.planted at the same time started flowering. Did some research and found out what I had. They were freebies from a breeder that knows I only grow autos but got sent by accident. All are doing well.

I have 5 Critical Blue by Expert Seeds. The seeds were left over from my last indoor Auto grow. For various reasons they didn't do very well indoors, so I thought I'd try them outdoors as the wife has space in the poly tunnel she uses for Tomatoes.

I am making this grow really "hands off", I am doing no topping and no defoliation and a little LST. I have them in 12L pots with some seaweed based compost from the garden centre. I have mixed in a little perlite, Epsom Salt and added some mycorrhizal compound at the base of each seedling. They have been vegging for about a month and they are just starting to show sex. I watered them well when they first went in the tunnel and haven't needed to again until today. I am not using any fancy "weed" nutes, indoors I usually use Blattwerk Pure for veg and Plant Magic Old Timers for Bloom. Today I fed them for the first time and I used Levington's Tomorite tomato food at 50%, I will up the percentage as they start to stretch. Tomorite is a seaweed based fertiliser and claims to have everything I'd expect from a balanced plant food.

These are a bit of an experiment. I have never grown outdoors before. I am also forming the opinion that a lot of the stuff we do to our plants to increase yields is largely pointless or maybe even self deprecating. My current indoor grow is bearing this opinion out. They were plants that I left veg for 6 months and just fed a simple general purpose feed when they needed it. In bloom I just potted them up in some seaweed based compost, tidied up the lower shoots and flipped them. Other than watering/feeding I have left them be. They are yielding way much more than they normally do.

I'd love to hear how your experiments go, if you have a journal/thread I'd follow it...
