I'm in northern Michigan I plan on running a adjust a wing Avenger large with a 1000 watt metal halide in a 5 by 8 room are temperatures in the winter can range from 6:50 below to a balmy 30

An inkbird controller is nice for basic temperature control. I use an Autopilot environmental controller that allows me to set separate day / night temps. One can also use a speed controller to slow a big blower when it's really bitter outside so it doesn't outrun the temperature controller and get the room too cold.
