I mean I have 2 qb288 v2's in a 2x2x4 tent around 100 watts with no extraction fan and the tent is only 5 degrees or so above ambient room temp.
I also have 2 qb288 rspecs in a 3x3x6 tent at 200 watts with no extraction fan and the tent is 10 degrees above ambient. With an extraction fan running its only 5 degrees above ambient.

Again, 150w vs 150w is still going to give you the same amount of heat. It's simple math. I mentioned a couple degree difference only because of possible airflow issues.

For qb's generally you're good up to 85F degrees or so without co2. over that and you'd likely want co2 or drop the temp.

I just bought the 3k 4x120 with the recommended dimmable driver for series. I figure that if it is too hot with 4 then I can use 3.

edit: Can I use 3 in series? Just checked and it says 4x in series...

Yeah you can, just won't be getting the moat efficiency out of the driver. This is why using an HLG-120H-36A is maybe better for this. You'd wire in parallel on this driver and if you remove one, it just takes the current from that board and splits it amongst the remaining 3. Rather than a CC driver that just keeps the current the same.

Those are exactly the same man. Just turned 90°.
As for the driver, it's up to you. Al I can say is it will give you way more flexibility if you ever wanted to use the driver for some other reason in the future with other 36V options. And as I mentioned, you'll always be pulling the full 120watts from that driver no matter what's on it. You could put 1 board on it(but definitely don't) for 120w or 10 boards all gettin 12w a piece.

Sorry I just realised it was in the title of the thread! :dunce:

5ft is fine, but the more the better in my opinion. But really I was asking because it influences my light choice , been you would need 14-18" distance between light and plants if you had gone with 288 board, but I also see you went with the 4x 120s so I think your on the right path.

Shit I wish I could vote for both the 4 120's and 1 135, but I think the 120's would give you an amazing spread like @Airwalker16 said. I have some 135's now, but I think the 120's are really nice and have a more distributed light spread. So I'm gonna vote for the 120's.

Any advice on no till? Ill have about a month to get my soil ready

When you prepare it make sure to add some pumice, lava rock, or both. Lava rock is a lot heavier though. I mixed different sizes of pumice with the lava rock into my soil when I mixed it up for my no-till. I also like to add some pumice or lava rock when I top dress with Vermicompost or EWC.

If @808allday wants to wire 4 QB120 (24 volt boards)in parallel and use a 120 watt driver, he will be better off with a HLG-120H-24(A,B,or AB depending on preference).

With the HLG-120H-36A, you can use it because the 24 volt boards fall between the CC voltage minimum and maximum. However that driver does not have enough amperage (3.4 amps compared to 5 amps on the HLG-120H-24A) to utilize the full 120 watts with four QB 120 wired in parallel.

Oh Shit, I thought the 132s AND 120 were 36v. My bad 808!
