I bought some inexpensive LEDs on Amazon and actually like them (Sayhon SH2000). The problem is that it's a solid panel of light and doesn't cover the area that I want. The 7 plants I have now are crowded. I can go about 6x6 feet and want to do 6-8 plants in the future. I also want to use the same light for veg and flower. I'm looking at the Mammoth 8 bar 800-600 light with the LM301b diodes, the Phlizon FD8000 1000W with the 281b diodes, or the Volt FL-1 720W. What recommendations does the community have? Is there another option I'm overlooking? Thanks!

I would go with the Philizon. The output and coverage are a reasonable match for your canopy size, though, would be better suited for a 5x5 area.
An option to consider is dyi. You can put together an excellent light with samsung or bridgelux strips and save ~30%.
That's a great idea. Most of my stuff is DIY, so I'm used to it. I'll look up some sources for the strips.

I have a 400 watt board that can be daisy chained with others, but looking back I would go with bar style that can daisy chain for more even coverage. The board works great for my needs, but could be optimized better.

Hands down the Mammoth 880w, Emerald Green Spectrum.
Its got the best diodes money can buy, as good as drivers as are made, and the closest spectrum to the sun, of any LED. Its also got 2711umol, and $$$$ vs umol, is as good as it gets.
3.1 Efficiency. $850.
But, I would use it in a 5 x 5. It would be good for 6 x 6 veg. Id not flower in 6 x 6. Thats only 24w sq/ft. 5 x 5 is 35w sq/ft.
