I just want a straight flowering spec..i dont plan on veggin with it (whatever spec that is)3w
Yes, you can choose the same spectrum as AT or A 51
Personally I like that I get to blend my whites
feeling I can better target the sweet spots
I mixed 6500 + 5000 + 3000K + 2700
2 X 290 are cheaper ATM than the spyder I think.... isnt the Spyder a grand... two 190's will be 900 I think... and will do 4 x 4..at the end of the day its either the
spydr <liking this if i can get the specs to be like an a51
2 xgs190 < liking but 2 MIGHT not be enough, eventually over budget
or 2 clw solaflares < although no feedback on these yet from anyone if they're good or crap)
yea spaz..the reason I wasnt sure about just the 2 xgs190 is because I emailed Jeff and he said its "minimal" for the 4x4 coverage not saying it wouldnt work...I if i did get the 2 xgs190 will i have to supplement some blue and red like u mentioned?2 X 290 are cheaper ATM than the spyder I think.... isnt the Spyder a grand... two 190's will be 900 I think... and will do 4 x 4..
I kind of dont understand buying the spyder to make it the same as the A51... I think you could get to RW150 and cover a 4x4 but confirm with Jeff...
if your spyder is purely for flower them get that spectrum....mostly whites.. a little blue and some reds...
really.. I dont own one but was under the impression if would from other members who have them here...yea spaz..the reason I wasnt sure about just the 2 xgs190 is because I emailed Jeff and he said its "minimal" for the 4x4 coverage not saying it wouldnt work...I if i did get the 2 xgs190 will i have to supplement some blue and red like u mentioned?

so the spydr 3w will be just as effective as the 5w in the a51......?
sorry if im back and forth bro...jst trying to understand
i just want my spydr to be equivalent / better than the a51 if im gonna get it..if thats even possible...?
as long as it covers my 4x4
Hi 6 leaf, not sure what your timeline is, I just posted a thread using an LEC Sun System/315W Philips Elite Agro 3100k 930 vertical bulb/reflector. If you're not in a big hurry, you should be able to see some results of this initial run in about 8 weeks. One thing I can tell you right now with this setup is that watt for watt vs. my LED's in the previous run, the ambient temps only went up about 2F, considering it flat really considering outside temps have been hovering in the mid-80's since I fired it up, incredible for this technology imo. I'm trying one to begin with, if the results are there, I could fit another in my room with no heat concerns. Link in my sig...Ok thank you all for input...although not worried about hps thanks anyway for the respective advice
ive boiled it down now to these options after tracking threads all day,,
options are now
(2) a51 XGS190 w/ (1) RW-150 =~1500bucks
or
BML Spydr600 although only seen PetFlora's thread..dude knws about these leds and I trust his knowledge on the subject
I cant look at the Apache because its ridiculously expensive..
I like the CMH Philips Agro 315w bulb..heard nothing but positive on these babies about their spectrum and what not..
and for some reason im not seeing much people using California Light works..I was even considering (2) Solarflares
I would like to know whats the 411 with them..
but overall..i understand a51 would most likely be the ultimate choice in terms of quality and recommendations
oh yea and whats the deal with these...http://www.advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-xml-10w-cree-xml/ ?
thanks
I believe they are 3W but I could be wrong, they are 100% American Osrum LEDs. I have the Grow Max Spyder. One thing you have to realize about most these led companies is that they drop ship, meaning they buy that chinese bullshit and throw their label on it. If you have any questions about BML, email them or call and ask to speak with Nick, he runs the show and knows the most. He's very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about lighting in generally, not just grow lights.Lol understood...I was just on the idea that the spectrum was one that you choose so I said to myself...just go witha proven spectrum? If im making sense lol..im not sure if the spectrum the spydr has standard would be better/worst than my other option
Im really leaning toward the spydr for the 4x4 coverage...
And also are they 5w or 3w leds on the spydr??
my next two are the spyder for the garden applications.. i own all types led cfl t5 plasma mh hps there all good and all work.. I've watched first hand the lec it works great in veg... haven't yet seen the flowering capabilities.. I'm watching my Plasma starting to flower 11 plants in a 4x4 area... so far so good the foot print it covers and very if any stretching its phenomenal. Just saying. In just 7 short months I've used the major selling lighting on the market(types not brands). THEY ALL WORK just get your environment good and you will have no problems with any sort of lighting you may chooseI haven't compared the 2, but have seen plenty of small tent A51 threads
Not sure anyone has harvested A51 in a 4 x 4 space (someone, anyone...?)
SPYDR is made to order when you choose your own flower blend, so it could take a few weeks
So plan ahead
thank you for the wisdom..im really glad to hear about the temps ..like i said i heard nothing but good with these lights..ill be following your thread surely..but as of this moment im gonna try and get as low as i can on the draw with the old ebill...Hi 6 leaf, not sure what your timeline is, I just posted a thread using an LEC Sun System/315W Philips Elite Agro 3100k 930 vertical bulb/reflector. Spyder hands down. there is no comparison to what its capable of and the verstitiltity of it.. lolok so as of now...a51 might be the ones...but i still really really like the design features of the spydr and the spec modding
but is it really that important? its like pick your poison here lol
next step have one of u build me one hopefully with some COBs bright like a mother with the ideal spec
Ouch, that must hurt, can't believe some of the rates I've seen posted here, I'm staying put at .073 cents...thank you for the wisdom..im really glad to hear about the temps ..like i said i heard nothing but good with these lights..ill be following your thread surely..but as of this moment im gonna try and get as low as i can on the draw with the old ebill...
believe it or not where im at we pay 0.51cents per kw..nuff said
I don't pay attention.. Thats the easiest wayOuch, that must hurt, can't believe some of the rates I've seen posted here, I'm staying put at .073 cents...
lolol u so gota love the internet yeah i wouldent beleave half the shit that is posted here anyways until u have stood there and watched it urself well im saying leds are fucken pooo compared to hpsYes. One of the many things, that IMO, separates the SPYDR from the others... the ability to choose your own spectrums
The ability to push the bars together for veg, then spread them as the plants grow is huge (and also tilt individual bars)
as well as the entire 3 x 3 footprint has the same intensity color spectrums
and then it's passively cooled, although running a house fan across the back side makes it more efficient
