Which spectrum and when?

Hey,

Probably a simple question for all you seasoned LED growers but how should you utilize the different spectrum during grows?

Should one ONLY use blue during the veg. stage or is it okay to flip the red spectrum in there as well? Running 18/6

And when flowering, should you switch off the blue and only run red? I've gotten some recommendations from the retailer about when to use which spectrum but I want to hear from people that do grow, is there any difference at all?

Thanks!

Blue at 5000K for veg phase and 3500K and red for bloom phase there is a difference. Blue creates growth and red creates stretch. . 16/8 is fine for veg. Red for bloom at 12/12 peace

I think using both red and blue the entire time (veg and flower) should be fine. Altgough if you get satisfactory growth with just the blue then that's fine too. But I wouldn't use just red for flower

Before I switched to LED i was running a 400W MH which is basically only blue light. So then I wouldn't go wrong with just running with the blue spectrum then.

Yeah, I was thinking that running them both wouldn't really hurt but we'll, perhaps just running blue is the way to go, during the veg. phase anyways.
