I will be using 2 8" 750 cfm blowers, 1 for each pair of cooltubes. The cooltubes are also 8 inch. I have done a 1 light system in the past with a 1k light 6 " cooltube, and a 6" 400 cfm blower with great results... I just want to ensure maximum cooling as I have always put the blower to blow through the tube not pull air^^Agreed. Pull. Honestly, I think you're going to have substantial heat problems if you try to daisy-chain 4x1k watt lights no matter how you do it. I have 2x600 daisy-chained, and 2x400. The second reflector is noticeably hotter, probably around 10 degrees TBH. By the 4th light I could only imagine. And I'm not even running 1000s.
been toying with ur idea for a week or so now ! i av a 600 hps in a cooltube n a 400 hps in box type hood, but the tube as a a little flap of reflector on each side ( hardley sufficient ) just wondering if i put the reflector back on the 600 would i still be able to extract the heat ? as at the min i av the tube connected to fan n filter ( pulling the air ! ) think i will remove it asap n get the reflector back on ! at least y the weather is cold !exactly what Massah said. but let me ask you.. why are you using cooltubes. their suck as far as light disbursment. I'd imagine it's because you want to go with a sealed hood but ..... IMO i have a cooltube and they are shit for reflection. also you're using 1000 in cooltubes ....you're going to be placing them higher and with cooltubes you will be losing alot of light and affecting your yeild. go with a parabolic hood man. your yeild will thank you.
idont agree m8, as this is a widley discussed issue , i personally av done both ways butnow i pull but just coz u dont no which way best to shift the airflow by no means sauys its gonna b a failure ! i asked the same question as a noob and the peeps on here vary from either push or pull ! its a good old noob question ! suck the air over the light or blow it over the light ?"I am setting up a 4 1000 watt system with coltubes. My questioni is which way shoul i have the blowers?"
Does anyone else see fail written all over this?
If you have to ask which way the air flows, maybe you should rethink your entire grow.
its a simple question pal. I have plenty of experience growing, just never cooled so many lights at once. Again in the past i have blown the air through, however this was only a 1 light system. Does it make a difference? Personally I think not. If a blower moves x amount of air pushing, it has to draw the same amount in."I am setting up a 4 1000 watt system with coltubes. If you have to ask the question then you have no business running 4- 1000w setup. Yes your are right it is an often asked and answered question.
As a noob were you running 4 - 1000w when you asked the question?
Suck don't blow.
Ok 2 is fine especially with 8" fans. That's what I have now too and man those things move some air.I will be using 2 8" 750 cfm blowers, 1 for each pair of cooltubes. The cooltubes are also 8 inch. Now that is the type of answer I was looking for....Thank you very much....

And to the post above me, you know pushing air still means pushing it out of the grow tent/room, not back in right? The main reason not to push is so that any leaks result in negative pressure instead of positive pressure within the grow area. Also, how can you not filter the air based on where the fan is?? That doesn't make any sense.
