"Four-way Mix"
1 part (store bought) Topsoil.
1 part Compost.
1 part Perlite or Vermiculite.
1 part "Steer Manure".

The "1 part Steer Manure" can be made up of almost any combination of filler and/or organic nutrients, as long as it complies with these three things:
1. The N-P-K numbers should be approximately equal.
2. The volume should be about 25% of the overall finished "mix".
3. the overall potency of this "part" should be about equal to "plain old Steer Manure" (no stronger).

Add 1 or 2 Tblspns. of Dolomite Lime per gallon of mix. Moisten, mix and let "cook" for a month.

This mix is good for "larger seedlings" through harvest. Just add more mix everytime you repot.

For "Veg" cycle, suppliment with a little High-N Fish Emulsion and High-N Bat Guano.

For "Flower" cycle, suppliment with a little High-P Fish Emulsion and High-P Bat Guano.

Very simple.
Very cheap.
Very organic.
